We kick off our pre‑season campaign this weekend as we welcome stonerufc to the Charles Lewis Memorial Ground for a 15:00 KO.

Our selected squad is ready to set the tone for the season ahead — hard graft, sharp rugby, and a big Handsworth welcome for our visitors.

Alongside the rugby, we’re hosting a Jamaican BBQ & Family Fun Day, so bring the whole family down for great food, good vibes, and a full day at the club. 🇯🇲🍖

A sustainable solution for a volunteer-led club

Like many community rugby clubs, Handsworth RUFC faced increasing maintenance challenges with its traditional floodlighting. Replacement lamps had become difficult to source, maintenance costs continued to rise and the reliability of the existing installation was steadily declining.
As a volunteer-led club serving one of England's most deprived communities, securing funding for a major infrastructure upgrade was essential. Working together with Funding 4 Sport, Lumosa supported the club throughout the grant application process, helping secure funding from Npower Business Solutions that made the project possible.

Credit also goes to David Wade for lowering the towermaster columns and installing the new Lumosa LED system within 2 days, getting it bang on first time!
