Exciting news for little PIPER KENT who has just been booked for her first ever professional screen job. Piper will be filming a Christmas advertising campaign for a very big well-known high-street brand next month (we obviously can't say which company yet).

Enjoy every minute beautiful girl - I can't wait to see that cheeky smile on our screens really soon...

Congratulations to all our 2 & 3 year olds who attend the Spotlight Starlets class on a Monday evening and (finally) received their certificates, medals & trophies this week for the Summer 2026 term.

As these children are too young to take exams or perform in shows, they work towards achievement awards in class – Bronze for 1 term, Silver for 2 terms, Gold for 3 terms, Platinum for 4 terms and Double Platinum for 5 terms.

The Starlets class is a lovely introduction to the world of performance, covering Dance, Gymnastics, Drama & Singing and runs Mondays 4.30pm-5.30pm. It is such a fun class with lots of props & learning through play, and prepares the children so well for the main school classes when they turn 4. Please get in touch if you would like more information.

When your Year 10s ask to go into the studio to self-practice, but forget to turn the lights on and make it look like I haven’t paid the electric bill… Beautiful work as always MACI McCONNELL!

This time last week WILL STAFFORD was busy performing as Charlie Buckett as part of the Season Preview event at the Leicester Curve Theatre ahead of his starring role in Charlie & the Chocolate Factory later this year - it's going to be such a fab show!

This will be Will's 4th professional Musical Theatre contract after playing Joseph in Nativity the Musical (Birmingham Rep), Michael Banks in Mary Poppins (UK tour) and Kurt in The Sound of Music (Leicester Curve). So excited to see this one!

The current UK & Ireland tour of Matilda the Musical has been running for 1 year, and on Wednesday they celebrated this milestone on stage.

How wonderful that FOUR Spotlighters were performing on that special night - POLLY FLORENCE (as Lavender), RUPERT DUNNE (as Nigel), ZIENNA STERLING (as Amanda) and Spotlight graduate NICOLE MANUMBRE (as Hortensia). It's just THOMAS RANKIN missing from the official cast photo below (currently playing Nigel, but is on a different team). So proud of you all for flying the Spotlight flag so well!

9 years ago the first ever publicity photos for the brand-new musical Nativity were released. We had 4 pupils in the original 2017/18 cast - CHAELISSA GRAY, GRACE GREEN, LAYLA QUAID & CHANTELLE TONOLETE, with Chantelle playing the lead role of Star-Child and Chaelissa, Grace & Chantelle all being chosen to record the original soundtrack. The show premiered at the Birmingham Rep before embarking on a UK tour.

We have since had pupils in the show every year it has ran, both in Birmingham and the UK tour - in total 29 Spotlighters have performed in this professional production, and for nearly all of them it was their first ever taste of professional/paid stage work.

I wonder if the show will return any time soon - I hope so - I love it!!!
