For the last time..

The 2025-26 season was the final full season at Woodhouse Close Leisure Complex, with the new facility due to open in 2027 ✨

As our members take a well deserved break, we want to take some time to appreciate and remember the history of the leisure centre, the original Bishop Auckland Amateur Swimming Club and now Wear Valley ASC 💙

This evening our swimmers enjoyed a fun session to celebrate their commitment, hard work and progress, over the course of this season 💙

As we wind down towards the summer break we would like to thank all our swimmers, parents, guardians, volunteers and coaching team for their dedication to the club ❤️

🧸💦 WEAR VALLEY ASC – END OF SEASON FUN SESSION! 💦🧸

As a well-deserved treat for all our swimmers, we’ve booked the giant inflatable for Wednesday evening’s training session! 🎉

To ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable session, we’ll be making a few adjustments to the squad timetable:

🏊 5:00–6:00pm
Talent • Academy 1 • Academy 2

🏊 6:00–7:00pm
Performance A • Performance B • Swim-Fit

🏊 7:30–8:30pm
Masters/Adult Training (will still run as normal)

We can’t wait to round off the season with an evening full of laughs, splashes and plenty of fun!

Free Swimming for Drowning Prevention Day 🏊‍♂️

Swimming lessons help build vital swimming skills, confidence in the water, and an understanding of how to stay safe. However, while these skills can help keep you safer, nothing replaces good water safety awareness.

This Drowning Prevention Day, we're encouraging everyone to enjoy the water safely and take the opportunity to build their confidence with our free swimming in the general swim and fun sessions.

Please visit the reception desk to register for your free thrive card prior to Saturday 25th July 2026 🆓🎫

Remember: Water confidence is important, but awareness, supervision, and safe decision-making save lives 🩵🌊

Our new Adults & Masters squad is now 1-month old 🎉🥳

The team is growing, but we still have plenty of space available! 4-lanes available for swimmers on a Wednesday and exclusive use of the pool (6-lanes) on a Friday! 🔥

These sessions will help improve your health and wellbeing within a supportive environment.

Free taster sessions are still available 🤝

We are catering for a wide range of abilities within our lanes, so if you can swim 50m (2 lengths) on at least one stroke we would love to hear from you!
