Well… this might put a cat amongst the pigeons.. 🐈‍⬛👀

I actually breastfed two babies — but only one of them was mine. ❤️

When I was breastfeeding, I donated breast milk through Human Milk 4 Human Babies, something I was fortunate enough to be able to do at the time.

For some families, breastfeeding doesn’t always happen in the way they hoped or planned. There are so many different circumstances, and that shouldn’t be something that comes with shame or judgement.

It should be met with understanding, kindness and acceptance.

Our bodies can do amazing things, and feeding our babies is something we should be proud of — whatever that feeding journey looks like.

Inclusion means making space for everyone. 🌈

Every family is different. Every baby is different. Every parenting journey is different.

And that’s OK!

Whether a baby is breastfed, bottle-fed, combination-fed or receives donated milk, every baby deserves to be nourished, loved and cared for without judgement. ❤️

We believe inclusion should extend to the everyday things that matter to families — creating spaces where people feel comfortable, welcomed and accepted exactly as they are.

Because true inclusion isn’t about everyone being the same.

It’s about making sure everyone has a place.

Parents, I think this is something that's really important to understand about Rainbow Swim.

We still teach swimming.

We still work towards developing those essential swimming and water-safety skills.

We still have a pathway to follow.

But we also understand that **the child learning those skills matters just as much as the skills themselves.**

Because knowing what you want a child to learn is one thing.

Understanding how *that particular child* learns is another.

How do they communicate?

What helps them feel safe?

What motivates them?

Do they learn through play, repetition, watching, doing?

What happens when something feels too much?

These things aren't barriers to learning.

They're information that helps us teach better.

So we're not lowering expectations or taking away the goals.

We're looking at how we can help **this child** reach them.

Same goal.

Different route.

And sometimes, that's what makes all the difference. 🌈

Parents, sometimes the biggest swimming win isn't swimming further.

It's a child who was nervous walking through the door… and came back the following week.

It's the child who wouldn't get in… finally sitting on the poolside.

It's the child who needed Mum close… eventually letting their teacher help them.

It's the child who usually says “no”… deciding to have a go.

Those moments might not look impressive on a swimming certificate.

But we know how big they are. 💛

Because confidence isn't always loud.

Sometimes it's a tiny step that tells us:

**“I'm starting to trust this.”**

And once that trust is there, we can build from it.

That's why we celebrate the little wins at Rainbow Swim just as much as the big swimming milestones. 🌈

We’ve got something really exciting to share with our Rainbow Swim families! 🌈

This National Fitness Week, our swim parents are invited to use the gym and try out the facilities at Everlast Gyms completely FREE while your child is enjoying their swimming lesson! 🎉

So while they’re in the pool, why not make the most of the time for yourself? Have a workout, explore the facilities or simply take some time to move your body and feel good. 💙

And we absolutely LOVE that Everlast are joining us in our mission to — creating opportunities for the whole family to be active, together. 🌈

A day in the life of a swim school owner 🏴‍☠️🌈

Today has been a little bit of everything…
Planning and delivering our pirate-themed lessons, creating treasure hunts and activities, and watching our swimmers become fully immersed in the adventure. 🏴‍☠️💦

Baby swim classes, one-to-one lessons, lots of swimming, lots of planning… and then this afternoon, week one of our new Bath Babies course. 🤍

And if I’m allowed to say it… this is probably my favourite hour of the week.

There is something so beautiful about watching those special bonding moments between mummies and their babies. It’s calm, relaxed and gentle — a safe space for babies, but also a really special hour for mum.

Bath Babies is the beginning of a journey into the big pool, from those very first early experiences with water through to Swim Babies and, hopefully, a lifelong love of swimming. 🌈

It’s busy. Very busy. But it’s also incredibly rewarding.

Because when I stop and think about it, we really can do it all — and everything we do has one purpose: making swimming accessible from as young as four weeks old, while creating a continuous learn-to-swim journey for children across Lancashire.

And that feels pretty special. 💙

Honestly, I’m a little bit speechless.
Reading words like these means more to me than I can really put into words.

I really want to make a difference. I want to meet every family and every swimmer exactly where they are, without pressure or expectation — because this is your journey, and I feel incredibly privileged to be part of it. ❤️

Creating a space where children can feel safe, happy, confident and proud of themselves is at the heart of everything I do. So to hear that this is how your little ones are experiencing their swimming journey… it means everything. 🥰

Parents, this is probably the simplest way I can explain Rainbow Swim.

**We teach children to swim.**

That's always going to be the goal.

But we don't believe every child needs to learn in exactly the same way to get there.

Some children need more repetition. Some learn brilliantly through play. Some need a little longer to trust their teacher. Some are confident from day one.

And some children need us to understand what they're communicating before they're ready to really engage.

None of that makes them a “different” kind of swimmer.

It just makes them **themselves**. 🌈

That's what I mean when I say *learn to swim with a difference*.

The difference isn't who can come through our doors.

**It's how we teach the child who's standing in front of us.** 💛
