Sports travelled to Crewkerne to start their Intermediate County Cup journey and the clubs first minibus trip.
With spirits high, Sports arrived early for a good warm-up, and Bob talked to each player, giving them their instructions and what was expected.
Sports started well, and after 1 min Callum went through only to shoot wide.
Then, after 8 mins, Kristian went through and shot wide and a minute later Harvey put a delightful ball through to Westy again only for his shot to go wide again. Sports thought they'd scored the opener on 15 mins when a Harvey corner was headed off the line from a Spencer header.
Sports continued to press and should of been 3 up by now but didn't have to wait much longer as Sports opened the scoring when Will Hembury put the ball on a plate for Harv to fire home.
Then Crewkerne started to come into the game and a misplaced back pass from Spence on 21 mins let their striker in, who rounded Tom to make it 1-1.
Sports continued to push forward and on 24 mins Westy missed another chance but made up for it 2 mins later. Hembo played the ball out of defence to Callum who put a great through ball to Westy who rounded the keeper to make it 2-1.
2-1 soon became 3-1 when Harv put Renton through and a with his left foot he cooley slotted home.
On 35 mins Sports won a corner only for Samuel to p*e roll the ball out of play.
On 36 mins another through ball from Harv put Renton in, he made no mistake as the ball bobbled in under the keeper 4-1.
A minute later Tom Harris made the save of the game when keeping out a low drive from the Crewkerne striker to tip it around the post.
After 41 mins Renton made a great jinking run beating 4 players and as the goal opened up, the Crewkerne defender slid in to stop Cal scoring.
As half time approached, Sports were awarded a corner and a dangerous ball rebounded off the bar only to hit Spences head to make it 5-1.
With 2 mins added on, Sports pushed forward again and another Harvey Morgan assist as he set up Callum Renton for a deserved 1st half hatrick.
Half time 6-1.
Sports started the 2nd half as they finished the 1st when they were awarded a free kick wide on the right when cross of the game from captain Sam Kirk was nodded home by Westy 7-1.
Within a minute, Sports gave the ball away when keeper Tom Harris, whos distribution was impeccable 1st half, made an error when his pass fell short for their striker to shoot home 7-2.
Bob made some changes and the game got messy for a while, but on 65 mins Sports were their own downfall again as another misplaced pass by Tom was intercepted and the striker lobbed Tom for a great finish 7-3.
It didn't take long for Sports to extend their lead when Harv put Tom in to score his 1st goal of the season to make it 8-3 on 70 mins.
On 85 mins, Sports made it 9-3 when Will Coombes laid the ball back to Max Morgan and from the edge of the box he curled the ball into the bottom corner.
As the game went into injury time Sports made it 10-3 when a Spence shot was spilled by the home keeper, only for Westy to poke home and get his hatrick for the club, which his hard work and endless running deserved.
Bob and his players would like to thank Crewkerne Rangers for their hospitality and warm welcome and wish them all the best for the season.
