Some of the things we get asked.
So if you message and are training at another club you should always talk to your existing coach. If you aren't happy explain why.
If you want to train across two clubs then we don't mind but you must talk to your coach.
That works for TFS as well. For example we cannot offer BJJ gradings and high level coaching, so if you want that then train the MMA and stand up with us, and find agreement with a local BJJ club like Elite with Jordan Kirk.
When you message and say you want to start fighting competitively you have to understand that journey. It is very rare that someone untrained walks in and can spar at an okay level. It takes time to build up the skills and fitness. The body needs to learn to not over flinch or shut your eyes. You need to learn to relax and breath. These things come with experience. So when you join to compete, please join with the idea that you need to train to get ready, and that takes time.
If you ask if we are experienced then you will always get a reply of yes. Coaches are never going to say no. Some of our coaches are quite new to coaching, some are experienced, some have competed a lot and some haven't, but they will all coach you in a tried and tested way that will turn you into a top boxer, kickboxer, or MMA warrior. We spend time reviewing our coaching, always learning.
Even after 25 years of coaching, almost non-stop, with every level of athlete or competitor, across a lot of disciplines, through so many experiences, a good coach will always be learning... and then when you turn up you will practice the fundementals, because stance and basics are the most important skills. The expectation should not be that you turn up and meet 1000 skills. It is more like Bruce Lee said, practice a skill 10,000 times.
Now get training 🙏👊
