An update on Yer Tiz, Leigh Woods

Yer Tiz Update: the cycle trail will be CLOSED from Monday 8 December.

On Track are blazing ahead with the trail refurbishment and it's now necessary to close Yer Tiz so their team can work safely. It's likely that the trail will now stay closed throughout the rest of the build, including through the school holidays.

In case you missed the news, Yer Tiz is being refurbed to meet the needs of a wider range of riders, including those who use non-standard or adapted mountain bikes, while staying true to the fun and flowy Yer Tiz we know and love. Thanks for your patience while we work through the build, the new trail will be ready for spring 2026.

A massive thank you to everyone who joined our dig days this week! Your hard work is the reason we’re able to keep the trails at Ashton Court well maintained and at such a high standard all year round.

A quick reminder: the quarry climb is still closed please respect the closure and avoid riding it until it officially reopens.

Big news for Leigh Woods - Forestry England. Stay tuned, more news to come.

Yer Tiz is getting a facelift! 🙌

Starting this week, we are refurbishing our much-loved Yer Tiz cycle trail ready for spring 2026. The refurbed trail will meet the needs of a wider range of riders, including those who use non-standard or adapted mountain bikes, while staying true to the fun and flowy Yer Tiz we know and love.

For everyone’s safety, Yer Tiz is diverted for the next few weeks. Please follow all signs and be considerate of other site users.

Cycle trail 🚴‍♀
The Yer Tiz start is diverted along the Purple walking trail. Please ride considerately and give way to pedestrians.

Walking trails 🚶‍♂️
The Red trail is open with a diversion due to tree felling work.
The Purple trail is open with cyclists diverted along the final stretch. Expect some extra traffic in this area.

We can’t wait to bring you more updates and a fantastic, accessible cycling experience.

It’s RIDE OUT time again! Thursday 20th November, meeting 1845 at Pedal Progression 🙌🏻

📍Pedal Progression
🕣 Ready to ride 7pm
🏁 Finishing at The Mall, Clifton

All welcome, chilled and chatty social ride, no drop.

You’ll need lights for the whole ride this time... and we’d recommend a jacket for the pub. And obviously a working MTB and a helmet. It’s going to be chilly, so wrap up warm!

As always, we’ll offer a chilled group that focuses on surfaced trails, and less demanding natural stuff - this one’s perfect if you just fancy a pedal and to keep it social.

We’ll also offer some spicier options for people that want a bit more of a challenge. Pick what you feel up to on the night!

Pub will be The Mall, cos it’s close to Pedal Progression and the garden is perfect for us.

All groups are no drop and aim to be chilled and chatty.

And just a reminder that this one is a group ride, rather than a guided or led ride, so bring whatever you need to be self-sufficient.

See you there 👋🏻

💥December Big Dig - We Need Your Help!

⛏️This December 4th and 5th, we need volunteers for our biggest trail repair project of the year.

🪏We’re fixing-up the knackered Ashton Court Quarry Climb, but we can’t do it without YOUR help.

👷We’re getting the experts at Velosolutions UK in first do to the hard work, then on 4th and 5th December we’ll grab our shovels and do the essential job of finishing it all off - many hands make light work, but without the community, we can’t make it happen.

🙏🏻So please, pretty please, come and lend a hand for the good of the trails!

💁🏻‍♂️How can YOU help?
We’re offering morning and afternoon sessions on both days. Join us for half a day, join us for the whole lot. It’s up to you! Sign up on the Eventbrite link in our bio!

Sessions are 4th and 5th December. 10 start or 13:30 start.

👉🏻WHAT will you be doing?
We’ll be borrowing and raking stone, then laying and shaping the trail. It’s really vital work to finish off the trail. But don’t worry, if you don’t fancy that you can also help with loads of other jobs, and there’s plenty of much less physical stuff available if you want it!

THURSDAY RIDE OUT / 16th October

📍Pedal Progression
🕣 Ready to ride 7pm
🏁 Finishing at The Mall, Clifton

All welcome, chilled and chatty social ride, no drop.

Conditions are pretty flippin good right now, so it feels like a last chance to ride some dry trails before proper winter kicks in!

You’ll need lights for the whole ride this time... and we’d recommend a jacket for the pub. And obviously a working MTB and a helmet.

Leigh Woods rides have been really popular, so we’re going to add a few options for those. If the numbers allow, we’ll offer a pacier option, and a more chilled option - the more chilled one is for folks who want to ride steeper stuff without having to worry about getting their legs ripped off. We’re also hoping to run an “intro to Leigh Woods” style group for people who are usually in the ‘middle’ group and fancy branching out a little.

And, as always, we’ll offer a chilled group that focuses on surfaced trails, and less demanding natural stuff - this one’s perfect if you just fancy a pedal and to keep it social.

We’re also looking into options for loan-lights for future rides so - hopefully - we can help a few of you try night riding for the first time.
