Match Report | OC RFC

A tough one at home as we fell to a narrow 28-27 defeat against North Bristol.

The sun was shining, the sidelines were packed, and it was a great occasion to kick off the season.

The absence of a pre-season, and the fact it was our first full 80 minutes of rugby this year, showed at times. Despite that, the boys dug deep and led for the entire game.

To be ahead throughout and then lose out with the last play of the match is a hard one to take, but there are plenty of positives to build on.

Heads up, learn from it, and go again.

🏉 SEASON OPENER TOMORROW!🏉

The wait is nearly over! After all the hard work put in throughout pre-season, Old Colstonians kick off the new campaign tomorrow at home against North Bristol RFC.

The opening whistle will have to wait a little longer, with our first fixture now scheduled for Saturday 26 September.

It was with great pleasure we were able to receive all the way from the North of Manchester. A return trip after OC RFC visited them in 2023

ties these two great clubs together as our previous coach and now theirs

The ground was too hard to play a full match but touch rugby and tug of war provided enough opportunity for all the shapes and sizes.

Safe to say rugby was the winner

One day you'll finish your last pre-season session.

One day you'll pull on the jersey for the last time.

The funny thing is, most rugby players don't miss the tackles, the freezing Tuesday nights or the sore bodies.

They miss the people.

So while you can, train hard. Play hard. Enjoy every minute. Because there will come a day when you'd give anything for one more session under the lights with your mates.

From Ashley Down to Yate, Cleve to Southmead, every fixture will matter and every point will need to be earned.
