Amatuer club who run three saturday sides catering for all levels, sunday cricket and a thriving junior section 🐗

Founded in 1842, Bromsgrove CC is one of the oldest cricket clubs in the county. Don't let that fool you though we are also one of the most forward thinking and provide some of the best facilities. We have 4 teams on a Saturday, 2 on a Sunday and provide junior cricket from 5-16 years old. We also have links to the Old Doms Cricket Club so if you fancy a bit of social cricket instead then let us know

We've reached the final instalment of our 2026 player review series, and we're finishing with 2nd and 3rd XI batter James Sargeant.

Having represented the Boars across both sides this season, Sarg has played his part in another successful year for the club. We caught up with him to hear his reflections on the summer, the highlights from 2026, and his thoughts on being part of the Bromsgrove Cricket Club family.

What was your best performance of the season?

Bredon at home, after giving some out, I received a fair bit of cop back when batting. But ending on 75* and getting the winning draw was sweet even if I was out on day release

What was your favourite game of the season and why?

Without being a bit of a cop out every game with the boys is class, whether it be 2's 3's or T20. Away in the T20 with 8 men and Greg turning up even though not picked was good fun - "Don't drop it Gam"

What was your favourite moment of the season?

Joey and Nick' s first hundreds. Dwizz stumping Bredon's opener was class., but Joey dropping a catch takes it for me - unlucky bud.

What's the best thing about playing for Bromsgrove Cricket Club?

Getting to see the lads, best bunch of boys going (apart from Greg Chinn)

Hilarious, valuable & varied.

Who is the most underrated player in the squad?

Nick Blackmore or Chris Mole both do very good jobs.

If you could swap skills with one teammate, who would it be?

Not Joey's catching that's for sure. Hickman's ability to play long and along the floor. Class,

Next up is Noah Nasta, who featured for both the 2nd and 3rd XIs during the 2026 season. A committed seamer who was always ready to answer the call whenever needed, Noah made valuable contributions throughout the summer.

What was your best performance of the season?

5-24 vs Chaddesley

What was your favourite game of the season and why?

Beating lye at home with a team of 7-8 juniors who all contributed to the win.

What was your favourite moment of the season?

Umpiring Nick Blackmore’s hundred.

Post match pints.

England World Cup Action for Jayden Levitt! 🏏

Everyone at Bromsgrove Cricket Club would like to wish 1st XI captain and opening batter Jayden Levitt the very best as he begins his England Over 40s World Cup campaign today in Guyana.

England get their tournament underway against USA, with play scheduled to start at 2:30pm BST. Representing your country on the world stage is a tremendous achievement, and we're incredibly proud to see Jayden pulling on the England shirt.

Having led the Boars with distinction, we know Jayden will be hoping to make a big impact throughout the competition and showcase the talent, determination and leadership qualities that have made him such an important part of our club.

Next up is 2nd XI wicketkeeper Henry Dwyer. Whether he's taking catches behind the stumps, whipping off the bails, or contributing valuable runs with the bat, Henry has been a key part of the 2nd XI throughout the 2026 season.

We caught up with him to hear his thoughts on the summer, the team's campaign, and some of the standout moments from another memorable season for the Boars.

What was your best performance of the season?

Has to be my first 1XI 50 against Worcester in the T20. They had some handy bowlers, a former IPL one too. At one point we were down and out so to get a score and get the lads through to the next round was pretty special.

What was your favourite game of the season and why?

2XI game against Olswinford - a serious display by the 2s who took down a very good side. Apart from a little collapse at the end seeing Hickers ton up and the tail get it over the line was pretty good.

What was your favourite moment of the season?

Stumping Bredons opener second ball of the innings off Howeller. He said a few choice things when I came up after he decided to charge the first ball. Was nice to have the last laugh. Or catching the Worcs Prem leading run scorer off Gammo. No secret were good mates so was nice to help him out for a big wicket.

Who is the most underrated player in the squad?

We have so many good cricketers at Bromsgrove its tricky to say. Hickers and Joey can blow teams away with the bat and have done so many times this season. Jamma can be equally as destructive with the ball too - bowled brilliantly this year.

If you could swap skills with one teammate, who would it be?

Jack White - he bowls absolute rockets and the bounce he gets is terrifying. Id love to be able to hurry and terrify a few batters like he does. Takes a few poles with him too.

Either of the wins against Redditch or Pershore - winning tight games like that always feels better.

We're continuing our player review series by hearing from representatives from across all sides at Bromsgrove Cricket Club. Today, 3rd XI seam bowling stalwart Chris Burford shares his reflections on the 2026 season.

What was your best performance of the season?

Probably both bowling performances again Alvechurch. Getting 3 wickets at home and then 2 wickets away from home.

What was your favourite game of the season and why?

Last game of the season against Lye. There was a lot of talk before the game but we just let the cricket do the talking and made sure we got the win.

What was your favourite moment of the season?

Most people will say there’s would be me heading the ball! But my personal favourite was hitting 24 off the last over against Netherton.

What's the best thing about playing for Bromsgrove Cricket Club?

I think throughout the whole club there’s just a togetherness and everyone is friends and everyone looks out for each other. No club like it 👌

Sum up your season in three words?

Consistent, enjoyable, steady

Who is the most underrated player in the squad?

I think Nick Blackmore is underrated as an all rounder. He’s scored loads of runs opening the batting, seems to have a golden arm when bowling and genuinely has one of the safest pairs of hands in the club!

If you could swap skills with one teammate, who would it be?

I’d love to be able to swing the ball as much as Searley can! I’m sure he wouldn’t mind getting my pace 😂

Over the coming days, we're catching up with players from across the club to get their thoughts on the 2026 season. This time, it's the turn of 1st XI vice-captain and seamer Will Tuffin, who reflects on another memorable year for Bromsgrove Cricket Club.

Best Performance - 4-33 against Barnt Green mopping up the middle order and tail or 3-25 against Worcester.

Favourite Game - Pershore at home defending 200 and narrowly managed to restrict them with the ball - games momentum swung back and forth between the sides loads.

Favourite Moment - Captaining the T20 side to our first final in a long time. Unfortunately didn’t win it but was great to go on a good run with a good bunch of blokes.

Best thing about playing for BCC - Playing with some great lads and having b**rs at the best b**r garden in Bromsgrove 🍻 also Boars Bingo.

My season in 3 words - “Bowl Quicker Gammon”

Most underrated player in the squad - Adeel - helps the big lads out in the field 😂

If I could swap skills with a teammate - I’ll take either Jack White’s ability to move the ball both ways or I’ll take Alex Milton’s reverse sweep shot to help me get up the order

With another season in the books, we're catching up with players from across the club to hear their reflections on 2026. Over the coming days, you'll hear from representatives from all teams as they look back on their individual and team achievements. We begin with 2nd XI seamer Sam Howell.

What was your best performance of the season?

Purely as a bowler, 4-34 against Bredon at home. If we're including batting, then 34 and 2-19 away at Bromyard, where I made my long-awaited debut as an all-rounder.

What was your favourite game of the season and why?

A couple stand out. Bowling OE's out for 66 in the last game of the season, contributing absolutely nothing and winning by 2:30pm to get the end-of-season celebrations underway early. Bredon at home was another highlight, both for my own performance and watching Sarge hit it to all parts to get us the winning draw after a frustrating rain delay.

What was your favourite moment of the season?

Probably being at the crease with Hickers when he reached one of his many hundreds. As a bowler, I'm not usually at the crease for long enough to witness these things, so it was nice to be there for one.

What's the best thing about playing for Bromsgrove Cricket Club?

The people. Having not grown up at the club, the way everyone welcomed me in when I joined was brilliant. I was genuinely at a point where I was considering giving up cricket altogether and I've ended up meeting some incredible people who I'm delighted to call my friends. It's genuinely the highlight of my week playing here.

Testing, fun, carnage.

Who is the most underrated player in the squad?

I've got two, Jona, his injury was a massive miss for us, brings plenty of experience and generally knows what he's doing, unlike some of us. Dwizz, genuinely electric behind the stumps, and handy with the bat (most of the time).

If you could swap skills with one teammate, who would it be?

Milts, he makes batting and keeping look so easy at times it's genuinely offensive. I'd love to know what it's like to have that much natural ability.
