Andy McLelland of Chuck & Duck fame couldn't wait to try the new Glowing SC4. It was received with him yesterday, he immediately tied up some worms was out on the lake this morning. Immediate success, he used the uv speck versions of sunburst and orange. The fish wouldn't leave them alone!!!! Other successes reported from Clywedog. Keep your pictures and reports coming!!!

Glowing SC4 has finally arrived. Something new for the bench… 👀
Our 4mm double‑bonded glow chenille is here, combining fluorescent and phosphorescent fibres for a subtle glow‑in‑the‑dark effect. Tough fine core, clean profile, and dyed gently at low temperatures to protect the glow.
Available in bright fluoro colours, with selected UV versions too.
Ideal for lure bodies, worm patterns, and anything that needs a bold, consistent finish.
If visibility matters in your tying, this one’s going to earn a spot on your desk. (Flies tied by Paul BARR.)
It has already been tried and tested on the waters with great results.

Rutland Trip Report
Day 1 was blown off completely.
Day 2 brought a bright spring morning with a cold west–east wind. My partner headed to Barnsdale. I fished a 12ft Airflo fast sink‑tip with four flies: two shrimps, a Diawl Bach, and a Tequila B***y on the point. Expecting fish in the eastern corner, we drifted through without a touch. The next drift along the northern bank transformed the day — around 100 yards either side of the bird hide the water was alive, and fish were engulfing the Tequila B***y. By lunch I’d landed 13.
After lunch we tried Dickens, but the water was coloured with floating w**d from the strong sun. A couple of fish, then a quick stop at the Monument, though the gusts made it awkward. We finished at East Creek, ending with 30 to the boat. Of my 19 fish, 16 came to the Tequila B***y.
Day 3 started at Dickens with a new partner. The w**d had dropped out, the water had settled, and a steady southerly pushed perfectly onto the North Shore. I switched to a 12ft Airflo slow tip for the overcast light. The first fish came tight to the willows, and another seven followed in the next 90 minutes. Most again fell to the Tequila B***y, with a few to a black UV cormorant on the second dropper.
As more boats arrived, we moved to Barnsdale Steep Bank. With the wind strengthening, I changed to a Di3 with two bo***es and pulled hard. The rainbows here were bigger and fought well in the wind. Another six fish came quickly. A brief look into Barnsdale and Yellowstone produced nothing, and we finished at East Creek. Total for Day 3: 15 fish.
Across the two fishing days, the Tequila B***y with 15mm shimmer in the rear was the standout, taking 90% of my 34 fish.

🌤️ First Day Afloat at Clywedog – A Bright Start to the Season
Yesterday was my first day afloat this season, and the road led straight to Clywedog. On arrival the lake was covered in a soft blanket of fog, but it soon lifted to reveal a bright spring day and a flat calm — perfect conditions to try out the new Glowing SC4.
🎣 Morning Session – B**g Tactics and Early Action
I started with the dreaded b**g, running the new glowing SC4 on the point in a simple sunburst UV shimmy worm. The middle dropper carried a Mojito egg, with a cheese egg on the top dropper. We began at the Willows and didn’t have to wait long.
• First three fish came confidently to the worm fished at 12 ft, with 4 ft between droppers.
• No interest in the eggs early on, so I swapped the Mojito for a white egg in Glowing Egg‑It.
• First cast with the white egg — a cracking 3 lb rainbow nailed it, followed by three more in quick succession.
By late morning a gentle breeze picked up and the stocking boat appeared, so we headed back to the jetty for a very welcome lunch in the spring sunshine.
🎣 Afternoon – Pulling Tactics and Stocking Pods
After lunch we gave the nets a go for an hour without a touch, so it was time for a change of tactics and a run to the Bigga.
Setup:
• DI5
• Cat b***y on the point
• Cormorant on the middle
• Tequila blob on the top dropper
It wasn’t long before we found the stocking pods. Fish averaged around 2.5 lbs, and it made for a relaxed, enjoyable end to a very pleasant day.
✨ Product Update
• Glowing Egg‑It is now available at the lodge and online:

• Glowing SC4 is also avialbale in the lodge and will be available on the website next weekend.
Tight lines wherever you’re fishing this weekend.

This is a glow in the dark 4mm chenille. Glowing (SC4) is dyed, and already heading to packing, with a uv variant for every colour lined up. The combination gives a clean two tier range, the standard and when there is a need for an extra trigger, the uv enhanced version.
