We are incredibly lucky to have such a hardworking greenkeeping team here at Cottrell Resort. They put in a huge amount of work behind the scenes every single day to keep our courses looking pristine! ๐๏ธโโ๏ธโจ

๐ค Owen West โ Head Greenkeeper
Owen joined in March 2024 and was promoted to Head within a year. His passion shines through in everything he does!

๐ค Dan Jarvis โ Assistant Head Greenkeeper
Dan started in the clubhouse in August 2005 before joining the green team. He's been thriving on the course ever since!

๐ค Robbie Greedy โ Assistant Greenkeeper
Rob joined in December 2004 and is our longest-serving team member with over 20 years of dedication.

Hefin joined in November 2021 and has been a loyal, highly valued, and reliable member of our team ever since.

Curtis joined in May 2022 and is currently in college developing his professional knowledge and love for the craft.

Max, our youngest member, joined in June 2024 for the summer and is now full-time, eager to learn all things greenkeeping.

โญ SENIORS OPEN DAY 2026 ๐๏ธ
On Wednesday 15th July, we welcomed over 220 golfers to Cottrell Resort for our annual Seniors Open Day.
With players enjoying both the Mackintosh Course and Button Gwinnett Course, it was fantastic to see so many visitors and members taking part in another successful event. Our halfway house kept everyone refreshed throughout the day, while the putting competition provided some extra fun and friendly competition off the course.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, along with our staff and volunteers who helped make the day such a success.
We hope you all had a fantastic day and we look forward to welcoming you back to Cottrell Resort again soon! โณ๐

Captains Day 2026! โณ๏ธโ๏ธ
Menโs Captain Martin Andrews, Ladiesโ Captain Tina Moss and Seniorsโ Captain Rob McAndrew held an extremely successful Captainโs Day on Saturday 11th July, with over 200 members taking part on the Mackintosh Course.
Our Halfway house is fast becoming โThe Talk of South Walesโ as players were once again greeted with a BBQ, cooked by our Captains and Vice Captains.
An incredible ยฃ2500 was raised on the day for this yearโs Captainโs Charities Tyฬ Hafan Childrenโs Hospice Arthritis UK and The British Heart Foundation ๐๐ป

From the fairways of Wales to the foundation of America ๐ฆ

Did you know that one of our golf courses at Cottrell Resort is named after a man who literally signed the American Declaration of Independence? โ๏ธ
Today marks Americaโs landmark 250th Independence Day, and weโre looking back at an incredible piece of our own heritage.
Before he became a founding father, Button Gwinnett grew up right here on the Cottrell estate. His family lived on this land from 1755 (inherited from the Button family) until 1807. Button was the third of seven children and the first to venture across the Atlantic.
He emigrated to America with his family, went on to represent Georgia at the Continental Congress, and put his name on the most important document in American history.
From a childhood on the Cottrell estate to shaping the modern worldโtalk about a legacy!
