A special moment at the Triple Trail finish line š§”
At this yearās Triple Trail Races, we held a collection to support Fred Laneās fundraising effort for Pilgrims Hospices , in memory of our 2025 Triple Trail 50km female champion, Sammy Black, who very sadly passed away recently.
Sammy wasnāt just a brilliant runner. She was also a generous supporter of Embrace Ultra, volunteering at our events and becoming part of the community around them.
Thereās something particularly special about Sammyās connection with the Triple Trail Races.
With the introduction of our new 50km route for 2026, Sammyās winning time from 2025 will now always stand as the female course record for the original Triple Trail 50km route ā keeping her name and her achievement forever part of the history of the race. š§”
It therefore felt incredibly fitting to have Fred with us at the finish line on Saturday to present our 2026 50km female champion and outright winner, Charlotte Johnston, with her winnerās award.
Thank you so much to everyone who donated over the weekend. Together we raised Ā£200 for Pilgrims Hospices, which will be added to Fredās fundraising total shortly.
If you didnāt get the chance to donate on the day but would still like to, Fredās JustGiving page will remain open until 2 October.
