Amazing night tonight at the Embrace Trail Run Club Group Coaching Session

After spending the last few weeks focusing on hill technique, club members were able to put their skills to the test in what I like to call our Boomerang Hill session. 🪃

The aim is simple - run continuously for 40 minutes on boomerang hill (a two spur out and back hill shaped like a boomerang) and see how many laps you can complete. It’s not about speed. It’s about controlled efforts on the ups and recovering on the downs.

This is a great session as the continuous nature of the session largely replicates the effort you can expect on a hilly race course.

Don’t be fooled by this being a controlled effort rather than a speed focus as this is still a tough old session. Boomerang Hill packs a punch with 85m climb in 1km on uneven terrain.

I was really proud of Harry, Mandy, Darren, Sarah and Andrew who all completed the 40 minutes and looked really strong throughout. Especially as it was quite hot.

So if you fancy giving it a go, head over to blue bell hill and see how you get on. We may even create a Strava segment for it as it would be great to see some club members on the leaderboard or wearing the crown.

Well done everyone 🧡

Runaround Kent - Harrietsham 🧡

Absolutely gorgeous morning to get together with our amazing community for this months Runaround Kent community run.

This month we headed for a new route between Maidstone and Ashford, which took in some beautiful trails on the North Downs & Pilgrims Way. We even got Kent’s own version of the Box Hill stepping stones as we made our way through the Wildshark Vineyards. It was a fantastic route with the views over Kent definitely making the steep climb before worthwhile.

As always, we had another brilliant turnout, with over 80 runners coming together for what is our absolute favourite run of the month. It was also great seeing so many people sporting the official trail run club kit.

I’m absolutely useless at taking pictures so here’s a few I’ve seen across our socials that were taken by those who joined us 😊📸

See you again next month

Hey All

Happy Solstice launch day! ☀️

Just a little status update on entries today as safe to say it’s been a busy one.

Entries have now been open for 7hrs and we’ve exceed 80 sign ups. A high number of these have been in the 24hr solo race, which has now already exceeded the total entry field for the 2026 race.

Team entries are also picking up and with teams allowed up to 4 runners, it means that for each sign up another 4 places in the race are taken.

We are capping it to 200 starters in 2027, so are well on the way to that number.

If you know the Solstice is definitely on your race list for 2027, just be mindful of the above as once places are gone, they’re gone.

Thanks to everyone who has signed up so far. I cannot wait for this race already

Phil 🧡
