CHARITY

Starting on Monday 2nd March, Tennis members, Max, Caitlin, Asya and Sam B are walking 23,250 steps a day for 7 days straight to raise money for CSF Leak Association.

This number comes from the fact 1 in 20,000 people suffer from this a year and in the UK, this is around 3,250 people per year.

Message from Vice Club Captain Max:
This charity means a lot to me personally as my sister has suffered from a CSF leak last year and this still affects her today. This condition really lacks awareness, and I am hoping our campaign can raise some money towards this association as it has brought about massive improvements around awareness of CSF leaks as well as the causes, symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment of them. They are also dedicated to providing funding to people with this condition to improve the investigatory tests and treatments. The CSF Leak Association relies entirely on dedicated volunteers and public donations to run and continue helping people like my sister who suffer from this condition.

INTERNAL SINGLES LADDER LEAGUE

With BUCs matches now being wrapped for the season, our singles ladder league is now (finally) active!

It’s very simple, everyone completes 3 matches in 3 weeks, BUCs match format, 1st place moves up and 4th place moves down.

Good luck everyone, and remember, it’s only a bit of fun.

POST-MATCH INTERVIEW

Ben reflects on what will hopefully be the first of many BUCS singles wins.

RESULTS

Team Captain, Sam’s Comments: A very close game with LJMU which saw us come away with a draw so we have made some progress to finish the season with although it was ultimately frustrating to not come away with a win. A good doubles win for myself and Chris gave us a good start and I followed it up with a singles win and a huge shout out to Ben for saving his best performance till last to get a victory in 3 sets. There is no doubt this has been a frustrating campaign for us all but we have something to build on for next year and I would like to thank everyone from the club that has travelled across the North to watch us play.
