⛳ Monthly News in Brief ⛳

It's been another busy month out on the course, with Gareth having plenty to keep him occupied!

🌱 Greens Maintenance

Spiking and overseeding with fescue has been taking place, along with sand dressing on a couple of greens affected with 'dry patch'.

💧 Warm AND wet

The combination of warm temperatures and damp conditions has meant the grass has been growing faster than we can keep pace with! The greens have also been treated with liquid iron to help combat disease.

☀️ We've needed to use the irrigation system over the last couple of weeks too – so it's certainly been an unusual mix of conditions!

Looking ahead to October...

Preparations for winter golf will begin, with mats and teeing areas getting ready for when they're needed - although we're hoping the weather holds out for as long as possible! 🤞

We won't be carrying out any formal drainage work this winter, but our usual mole ploughing will take place once the ground conditions are just right.

As always, there's plenty happening behind the scenes to keep the course playing as well as possible throughout the changing seasons.

A big thank you to Gareth for all the work that goes into keeping everything ticking over 👏⛳
