🌟 MONDAY NIGHT’S TRAINER OF THE WEEK 🌟

🐻⚽️ OSCAR ⚽️🐻

Winter training has officially started, which saw us back on the astro this week! ❄️⚽️

Oscar got off to an absolute flyer, picking up our first Trainer of the Week of the winter sessions! 🌟

Since joining the Bears, Oscar’s hard work and consistency have been fantastic. His attitude towards learning is always brilliant — he listens to the coaches, takes everything on board and is always looking to improve. 👏

That really showed in Monday night’s session, where he worked hard from start to finish and thoroughly deserved the award.

Oscar has been a brilliant signing for the team and a great addition to the Bears! 🐻💙

Well done, Oscar! 👏🌟

And to top it off, Oscar will be captain for Saturday’s game against Lilly Street Lions! 🫡⚽️

🦁 MATCHDAY | U8 YELLOW ⚽️

The Lions are back in action this Saturday as we face Wingerworth JSA Bears

📅 Saturday 10 October 2026
⏰ Kick-off: 11:00am
📍 The Arc 3G Astro
🏆 NDYFL U8 Yellow

We’re really looking forward to this one. We played Wingerworth in pre-season and genuinely couldn’t praise them highly enough. They were fantastic opposition, brilliantly coached and a pleasure to play against.

We’re expecting another really entertaining game between two groups of boys who want to get the ball down and play football. Their coaches were excellent with the players and created exactly the sort of positive environment we want to see at this age.

For us, the focus stays the same:

⚽ Play with confidence
🧠 Make good decisions
🔥 Press and recover together
↔️ Recognise attacking and defensive transitions
🎯 Move the ball quickly and positively
🤝 Support each other

As always, development comes before the result. We thoroughly hope the boys enjoy this one, express themselves and come away having learned something.

🔴⚫️ Come on you Lions!

🌟🌟 PLAYER OF THE MATCH – ARTHUR N #11 🌟🌟

⚽ Wingerworth JSA U8 Bears vs Matlock Cavendish Community 🐻

This week’s Player of the Match goes to Arthur N! 🏆🧡

What a performance from Arthur! He absolutely worked his socks off in defence, marking his players brilliantly and defending like a brick wall 🧱💪 — stopping everything that came his way!

Whether it was making an important clearance or winning the ball and driving forward into space, Arthur gave everything for the team from start to finish. 👏⚽

And the icing on the cake… a goal of his own! ⚽🔥 A brilliant reward for all that hard work!

A fantastic all-round performance and a very well-deserved POTM!

Well done Arthur #11! 🌟🏆

👀 Something new is coming to the Bears… 🐻🧡🖤

We’re very excited to have a brand-new sponsor joining the Wingerworth JSA Bears family for the 2026/27 season! 🤝⚽️

We’re keeping their identity under wraps for just a little bit longer… 🤫

Any guesses who it could be? 👀

Full reveal coming soon… 🧡🐻🖤

Monday nights 🌟 TRAINER OF THE WEEK

goes to Frankie! 🏆🧡🐻🖤

Frankie turned up early for training and, without any prompting, got straight into practising his shooting — and we were so impressed with what we saw! His accuracy and power have come on so much. He was even finding the top bins from the off! 🎯⚽️🔥

We then moved into our weighted passing and calling-for-the-ball drill, and again Frankie was brilliant. His passing was really accurate, always looking to find his teammate’s feet, and when it was his turn to receive the ball, he made sure his voice was heard. A great first touch followed by some lovely finishes too 👏🏻

Then came our defend/attack mini game and Frankie was really up for it! 💪🏻 When defending, he was looking for the space to move into, communicating with the player on the ball and getting stuck in with some cracking tackles. Going forward, he was finding clever passes through the opposition and, importantly, moving again afterwards to support his teammates. He was so close to grabbing himself a couple of goals as well! ⚽️

What we loved most was seeing Frankie put so many different parts of his game together in one session. A really, really good night from him and one we were delighted to see. 🥰

Keep it going, Frankie — you should be very proud of that session! 🌟💪🏻

Well done mate! 🧡🐻🖤

🌟🌟 PLAYER OF THE MATCH 🌟🌟

⚽ Wingerworth JSA U8 Bears vs CJB Panthers 🐻

This week’s Player of the Match goes to Walter #10! 🏆🧤

Walter showed just how versatile he is today! He spent the first half outfield and was absolutely non-stop — working hard, getting involved in everything and always looking to push the Bears forward. He was so unlucky not to get himself on the scoresheet too! ⚽🔥

Then into the second half and between the sticks 🧤… where he pulled off some cracking saves, helping keep the scoreline down and never giving up right until the final whistle! 👏

A brilliant all-round performance and a very well-deserved POTM!

Well done Walter! 🌟🧤⚽

Monday night’s 🌟 TRAINER OF THE WEEK 🌟

This week it goes to Taron! 🧡🐻🖤

We started the session with some ball mastery, and Taron was straight into it, showing off his turns and touches! ⚽️

Moving into the 2v2s and 2v1s, Coach Kev said that every time Taron got the ball, he was looking to either find the pass and move into space or take his player on and attack the goal. 💪🏻

He then put it all together in the 3v3 and played some really good football. His confidence, effort and eagerness to learn have come on massively, and that’s exactly what the coaches love to see.

We always say effort and attitude matter most — keep turning up, keep listening, keep trying and keep wanting to improve. Taron has been doing exactly that lately and really deserved this one. 👏🏻

And judging by his face when his name was called, he definitely wasn’t expecting it 😂 He was absolutely chuffed to bits! 🥹🧡

Massive well done, Taron! Keep working hard, Bear! 🐻⚽️🧡🖤

🌟 PLAYER OF THE MATCH – DAWSON 🌟

🐻 Wingerworth JSA U8 Bears vs Newton & Blackwell ⚽

This week’s Player of the Match goes to Dawson! 🏆🧡

Dawson has been playing in a position he’s not normally used to, but he’s taken to it brilliantly! 💪 Whether he’s asked to be the last man, pick up a player or get stuck into a tackle, he never complains and gives it everything — no matter the size of the opposition!

Against Newton & Blackwell he was solid at the back, tracking his player and making some brilliant tackles to stop their attacks. 👏⚽

Now we just need to get him to stay on his blooming feet! 😂😂

A thoroughly deserved Player of the Match for a brilliant performance.

Well done Dawson! 🏆🐻

🌟 MONDAY NIGHT’S TRAINER OF THE WEEK 🌟

Another fantastic Monday night training session from all the lads, but one Bear really stood out this week… Arthur N! 🐻🧡🖤

Arthur turned up ready to go and gave 100% from start to finish 💪🏻 He worked brilliantly in the warm-up passing drills and the 1v1 attacking and defending exercises.

When it came to the training game, Arthur took everything he’d learned in the drills and put it straight into practice. ⚽️👏🏻

He listened brilliantly to the coaches, took on feedback and worked hard throughout the whole session.

A massive well done, Arthur N! Very well deserved! 🌟🐻💪🏻
