Crablands Tennis Club

All members and their families are invited to an afternoon and evening of fun and games on Sunday 9th August from 3pm to 8pm. There will be a BBQ from 5pm and the bar will be open throughout. There will be opportunities for everyone to try Tennis, Green Bowls, Short Mat Bowls and there will be Lawn Games set up on the field (Croquet, Pétanque, Mölkky and Kubb).
Members from each section will be on hand to help complete beginners from other sections to discover what we all enjoy about our sports and there will be some spare equipment to borrow for each activity. For tennis, please wear trainers of some kind, and for bowling please wear flat soled shoes.
The activities are free, but the BBQ is £6 per head payable in advance (vegetarian options available). We hope that as many of you as possible can come and that the event becomes a celebration of everything we love about our very special club.

Look out for the BBQ sign-up sheet in the foyer and put your money in an envelope in the letterbox (deadline 2nd August)

National Volunteer Week!

We would now like to shine a spotlight on Mark Parrish from Crablands Bowling & Tennis Club!

“Mark is the volunteer groundsman for the Tennis section. He works tirelessly to keep the club looking amazing. He cuts the grass, makes beautiful noticeboards, guest fee boxes and anything required. Mark has recently been the main stay liasing with the clay court installers as the work happened. He now maintains the new courts. He has trained as an Activator and run sessions introducing players to Tennis. The list is endless!”

National Volunteer Week!

We would now like to shine a spotlight on Alison Parrish from Crablands Bowling & Tennis Club!

“Ali volunteers in various roles within Crablands. She is one of our valued committee members, helps run the bar on Tennis Social nights as well as organises the social activities. She endeavours to include all sections of the club to make sure we are as integrated as possible. She also finds time to help with the gardening. Her biggest volunteering commitment has been the development and set up of a new website for the tennis section which has resulted in our members being up to date with all things happening within the club. The new website has improved our profile and increased our membership. She also took on the role of Membership Secretary. Ali is always available to assist with any member queries, supporting, encouraging where she feels it’s relevant. Her energy and passion for creating the right environment for our members is never ending and she manages to find time to play lots of tennis. Ali very much deserves to be recognised for her invaluable volunteering at Crablands”
