Castle Combe Racing Club offers well organised race meetings, strong grids & a friendly race day

Racing Club provides competitors with well organised and promoted meetings, strong competitive grids, and a variety of classes. All within an environment that recognises that drivers are the customers who make the whole sport possible. For spectators, a promise to work towards varied race programmes with full grids, strong local championships and, wherever possible to run the type of racing and events you want to see, providing a great value for money day out.

John Barnard 1957 – 2026

Castle Combe Racing Club is sad to announce the passing of John Barnard, one of its most prolific and loyal championship competitors. It was only in May this year that John announced that due to ill health he was having to permanently retire from motor racing but typically said he’d still be around the paddock supporting his many friends at Castle Combe circuit.

Although John started racing a Mini in the 1990s, he became a well-known and stalwart competitor at Castle Combe Circuit during the last twenty-five years, first racing in GTs with an eclectic selection of quick machinery including the ex-Bob Light Prosport LM 3000 and a very special Caterham.

Later, John was consistently at the sharp end of the Saloon car grid fighting with the likes of Mark Wyatt, Tony Hutchings and Gary Prebble in his immaculate class A Vauxhall Astra VXR, built originally by Triple 8 Racing for the Sport-Maxx championship and prepared for the Castle Combe Championship by John’s godson, William Di Claudio.

John, from Queen Charlton, Keynsham was one of those universally popular competitors and away from racing operated a commercial property investment and development company in Bath.

Castle Combe Racing Club sends sympathy and condolences to John’s family and many friends.

Today marks the end of five racing seasons for the Racing Club Manager, Cat Dall’Occo. A massive thank you from everyone for all your hard work, commitment and loyalty - and most of all, always believing in the customer journey. We wish you all the luck in your new ventures - you will smash it!

Fantastic 🏁

🔴 NEW F3A LAP RECORD SET FOR CASTLE COMBE 🔴

George Line (Dallara F308) took a big chunk out of his own 2023 record, delivering an impressive 1:00.696 in the second race. His previous record was 1:02.137 and shifting that to the one minute mark was a real milestone.
