💙 What an incredible day at The SHE Show South 2026!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us today — our delegates, speakers, exhibitors, sponsors and event partners.

It’s been fantastic to see the conversations, connections and ideas being shared throughout the day, all centred around our core focus: People, Behaviour & Culture Change.

🧩 A huge thank you to Elizabeth Hyde for a fascinating session on Behaviour & Culture Change at The SHE Show South.

Elizabeth explored why serious incidents are often preceded by warning signs, smaller incidents or near misses that were never reported — and why simply telling employees to speak up is not enough.

Psychological safety is built through everyday leadership behaviours. Leaders need to create regular opportunities for people to contribute, respond productively when concerns are raised, ask what happened before deciding who is responsible, model vulnerability and always close the feedback loop.

A particularly useful question for managers to take away was: ‘Is everything as safe as you’d like it to be?’ It invites a much more meaningful conversation than simply asking whether there are any near misses to report.

⚖️ A huge thank you to Emma Bowens for an engaging and insightful session on Legal Advice & Industry Updates at The SHE Show South.

Emma explored the gap between the way an organisation plans to respond to a serious workplace incident and what can happen when people are placed under real pressure.

Even reliable and competent team members can freeze, panic or deviate from procedure. Emma’s advice was to build response plans around that reality, establish one clear and consistent voice, prepare a detailed crisis management plan and pressure-test it through realistic scenarios.

The session was a valuable reminder that reading a plan is not the same as living it — and that early specialist legal support can help organisations avoid damaging mistakes during the critical first stages of an investigation.

⭐ A huge thank you to Kevin Taylor for an outstanding session on Inspirational Leadership at The SHE Show South.

Drawing on more than 27 years in policing and his experience as a hostage negotiator, Kevin gave delegates a unique perspective on leadership, influence and difficult conversations when the pressure is high.

One particularly powerful takeaway was that questions alone do not create understanding — listening does. Effective communicators ask a question, then listen beneath the words before deciding where the conversation needs to go.

Kevin also challenged leaders to understand themselves, use communication flexibly and practise it consciously, so positive habits remain available when situations become difficult.

A fascinating and highly practical session. Thank you, Kevin! 👏

🌊 A huge thank you to Jo Royle for an incredibly powerful and thought-provoking presentation at The SHE Show South.

Jo’s session on Climate Change & Sustainability challenged us to see healthy oceans, soils and ecosystems as critical infrastructure — underpinning supply chains, workforce wellbeing and long-term economic stability.

Her message was clear: organisations need to design for resilience, not simply efficiency, and recognise that systems built only for speed and growth can become fragile.

From sailing Plastiki across the Pacific to working with 22 governments, advancing pioneering microplastics research and helping protect more than 4.4 million km² of ocean, Jo showed what can happen when leadership turns concern into action.

Thank you, Jo, for encouraging every one of us to lead where we stand and imagine the legacy our decisions will create. 🌍👏
