What. A. Season. ❤️

Two promotions. One league title. So many great memories created.

Our First Team will play in Division Four next season following a well deserved second place finish.

Jake Smalley’s men lost just twice in the league all season and also enjoyed a run to the Crabtree Cup semi final making it the best campaign the First XI have had in over a decade.

At the start of 2025, the club expanded and moved to add a Saturday Second XI for the first time since 2016.

Skippered by Coppice stalwart Martin Cuerden, the team managed to pull off an amazing win over Preston Royals in the final over of their final match to leapfrog their opponents and win Division Eight in just their second season as a team.

The decision was made in the off season to add more competitive cricket to the club’s Sunday offering with the creation of a Third XI.

Playing against local opponents looking for a similar approach to games, the team won seven of their fixtures over the summer which is more than any Coppice Sunday side has managed in a single campaign in recent history.

We’d like to place a huge thank you on record to our sponsors, anyone who has supported the club throughout the season on a Matchday and the incredible work of our volunteers such as our scorers, umpires and legendary groundsman.

We can’t wait for next year already 😉 Up the Coppice!

And wrapping up the season in style, Coppice 3rd XI host Little Valley CC on Sunday. Dulson's men will be looking for a victory to make it three in a row. Go well, lads!

Heading into the away match against Preston Royals 1st XI, there are three teams fighting for promotion. With just 10 points separating those teams, Cuerden's men have got the jump to Division 7 in their sights.
