The Barn Abc

01/11/2026

Hi everyone,

Would just like to say we are thankful and grateful for all who played a part and supported the Barn’s very own Sonny Campbell over the last 2 weeks.

Sonny is an outstanding kid, both in and out the gym, and we knew he would come into his very own at this year’s Scottish Championships.

In his first fight of the tournament, he came up against a very fit and strong boy from the very well-established and terrifically run club, Doonhamers. Sonny stuck to the plan in this fight, that seen him run out a comfortable winner.

Next up was a very strong boy from East Lothian Haddington Boxing Club. Once again, Sonny stuck to the plan that saw him win the semi-final unanimously. Have to mention the young boy’s father, who was very magnanimous in defeat and very complimentary to Sonny’s performance.

Then on to the final. Sonny was up against a very strong boy from Arbroath Boxing Club, who bravely won his first 2 fights for the right to take his chance in the final.

Once again, Sonny boxed very well behind his jab, stepping in and out to execute a unanimous decision over the young boy from Arbroath, who, if gold medals were handed out for effort and manners inside and outside the ring, both these kids would have been handed gold medals.

But as it is, there could only be one winner on the day, and Sonny ran out a well-worthy winner to be crowned the new Scottish Champion 2026 to see the love emotion smiles and relief lol on Sonnys mum and grans face along with the rest of the family is the memories we are in this game to make

So thankful and grateful to Kayden, Liam and Franco for sparring with Sonny leading up to his championships. Helped him immensely.

PS: The numbers coming through the door to watch all the kids in the championships was very uplifting and can only be good for the kids and the game as a whole.

Once again, thankful and grateful to everyone involved. Have to say, if there is a bigger smile on anybody’s face than Sonny’s tonight it would be the Godfather of the Barn Boxing Club, our beloved Amigo Rab Bannan.

PS: To all the kids out there, keep up the roadwork, stay safe and stay fit.

God bless

This is one of our little barn boys and we would be very grateful if you could all please share this post 🤍🤍🤍

This is Paul.

Our beautiful little boy.
Earlier this year, our world changed forever when Paul was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy - a rare, aggressive and progressive
muscle-wasting condition with no cure.

Like any parents, when Paul was born we imagined a future full of adventures, milestones and opportunities. We never imagined we would be having conversations about time, quality of life, treatment options, medical trials and the challenges that will lie ahead.

For months we kept Paul's diagnosis private while we tried to process what it meant for him, and for all of us as a family. Some days we still struggle to believe it's real and the trauma that has followed us has been difficult to navigate.

But one thing we know for certain is this:

We want to make every moment count.
That's why we've created

“HUSTLE FOR THAT MUSCLE”

It's our way of raising funds for Paul, helping us prepare for the future, create special memories and make sure we're doing everything we possibly can for him.

This page will be where we share Paul's journey, our fundraising efforts and the incredible support we receive along the way.

If you'd like to read Paul's full story, and know more about Hustle for that Muscle we've shared it on our website below.
Thank you for being here.
With love,
Paul's family
