I used to be petrified of the gymβ¦
like seriously talk myself out of it every time but then the gym started to feel good the more I turned up and got used to the environemnt and where the machines were, watching others do the machines I wanted to do but was too scared, I started trying new machines that scared me.
I started walking into the gym, quickly popping my stuff in a locker and heading right out to do my workout and not sitting on the bench in the changers scared to walk out.
The one thing i used, when I started the gym, was pop myself on the treadmill to eyeball what other people were doing and this gave me enough courage to try the seated leg press.
It kinda snowballed after that, the more times I put myself out my comfort zone with using new machines, the more I got confidnet to try new moves without fear of judgement from the poeple around me in the gym.
And guess what?? No one even watched me in the gym, my god, I had terrible form when i started (check this pic lol) like REALLLLLLY bad and absolutely not one said a word to me :)
A common misconception is that the gym is not welcoming and the people who know what they are doing are judgemental. But really the gym is a space where people betterr themselves and create stronger, fittter, versions of themslves and then I realised ββwhat on earth is there to be scared about when you start entering an environment like that?
I help women daily overcome gym fear and become confident and strong using The M.E.G Method πͺβ€οΈβπ₯
