🏉 NEXT UP | BACK TO BUSINESS FOR THE SADDLEBACKS! ⚫️⚪️

After a record-breaking weekend for Devizes RFC, attention turns to another big Saturday of league rugby for both senior sides.

🔥 1ST XV | MELKSHAM (A)
📍 Melksham RFC
🕝 KO 2.30pm

Fresh from their historic 152-0 victory over Trowbridge II, the 1st XV head just down the road to face an ever-improving Melksham side.

Last weekend’s result may have grabbed the headlines, but the lads know they’ll face a very different challenge this Saturday against a Melksham outfit that continues to make strides.

With six wins from six and top spot in the league secured, the Saddlebacks will be looking to keep their feet firmly on the ground and make it seven from seven.

🏠 2ND XV | MINETY II (H)
📍 The Chivers’ Ground
🕝 KO 2.30pm

Meanwhile, the 2nd XV return home buoyed by an excellent 33-5 victory away at Cricklade last weekend.

After a frustrating start to the season with limited opportunities to get on the pitch, the lads are beginning to build some momentum and will be looking to continue their assault on the Dorset & Wilts North 3 title.

Minety II are the visitors to the Chivers’ Ground, with another important league result up for grabs.

Last weekend made history. This weekend is about building on it.

Whether you’re heading down the road to Melksham or staying at the Chivers’ Ground, get behind the black and white!

🎃 A MONSTER WEEKEND FOR THE SADDLEBACKS!

🏉 1st XV | Devizes 152–0 Trowbridge II

A frightening scoreline at Chivers’ Ground! 22 tries, 21 conversions and multiple hat-tricks as the 1st XV make it six wins from six.

Huge respect to Trowbridge, who stuck at it for the full 80 minutes in great spirit. 👏

🏉 2nd XV | Cricklade 5–33 Devizes

A cracking effort on the road from the 2s, who came away with an impressive victory!

🏉 3rd XV | Chippenham III (A)

And perhaps the biggest highlight of the weekend — the return of the Devizes 3rd XV for the first time in years!

A great Friday evening of social rugby, with Chippenham coming out on top. Brilliant to see a third men’s side back representing the club.

Three teams out on the pitch. Plenty to celebrate at Devizes RFC!

🎃 1ST XV SQUAD | TROWBRIDGE IIs (H)

Five from five. Something wicked this way comes… 👻

The Saddlebacks return to the Chivers’ Ground this Saturday, looking to make it six wins from six as we welcome our neighbours from Trowbridge for a Halloween weekend showdown. ⚫⚪

A few tricks and treats in this week’s squad selection…

💀 Up front, Luke Moore returns to the starting XV in place of the unavailable Lewis Paget, with the rest of the pack unchanged.

🦇 In the backs, Lewis Dodds returns to the centres to face his former club. No doubt he’ll be looking to haunt a few familiar faces on Saturday. 👀

🎃 Among the finishers, Henry Sheppard returns to the fold, while Harry Norfolk is in line for his 1st XV debut. Callum Catt, impressive in recent weeks, rotates to the bench and will be looking to cause a few nightmares when unleashed.

📍 Chivers’ Ground, Devizes
🕝 2:30PM KO — an earlier start now the clocks have gone back!

Five wins. One local derby. No room for complacency.

Trowbridge arrive off the back of a convincing win over Corsham, so the boys know they’ll have to be at their best to keep the unbeaten run alive.

Saddlebacks faithful — get down, bring the noise and help make Chivers’ Ground a haunted house for our visitors! 👻

🏉 NEXT UP | FRIDAY NIGHT RUGBY & A DOUBLE HEADER SATURDAY! ⚫️⚪️

Three games on the calendar this weekend as the Saddlebacks prepare for another busy few days of rugby!

🍻 FRIDAY 30TH OCTOBER | SOCIAL XV v CHIPPENHAM (A)
📍 Chippenham RFC
🕢 KO TBC (likely 7.30pm)

First up, it’s the turn of our elder statesmen as the Devizes Social XV dust off their boots for a Friday night run-out against our neighbours at Chippenham.

Expect a few familiar faces, some questionable fitness levels and plenty of stories about how much better the rugby was back in their day!

🏠 SATURDAY 31ST OCTOBER | 1ST XV v TROWBRIDGE II (H)
📍 The Chivers’ Ground
🕝 2.30pm KO

After four away trips in their opening five league fixtures, the 1st XV finally return to familiar surroundings for only their second home game of the campaign.

Local rivals Trowbridge II make the short trip across Wiltshire, with Devizes looking to make home advantage count and build on their impressive unbeaten start to the season.

🌊 SATURDAY 31ST OCTOBER | 2ND XV v CRICKLADE (A)
📍 Cricklade RFC
🕝 2.30pm KO

Meanwhile, the 2nd XV head north to Cricklade, the first town on the Thames, as they look to get their league campaign properly up and running.

With cancellations and fixture gaps limiting the lads to just one outing so far this season, they’ll be itching to get back on the pitch and play some competitive rugby.

Three fixtures, plenty of local rivalry and a big weekend for the black and white!

If you’re not making the trip to Cricklade, get yourself down to the Chivers’ Ground on Saturday and give the 1st XV your support!
