Meet the Team: Sarah Dawson

Today, we’re shining the spotlight on someone who is quite simply Hickleton through and through — our General Manager, Sarah Dawson .

Sarah has been part of the Hickleton family since April 2011 and has been our General Manager since 2023. Over the years, she has become so much more than a manager. She is the heart of Hickleton Golf Club.

Sarah leads from the front, with passion, dedication and genuine care for the club . She is constantly looking for ways to move Hickleton forward, while never losing sight of what makes the club so special , its people.

For our staff, Sarah is a leader who is always there to listen, support and encourage. For our members, she is the friendly face who knows everyone by name, always has a smile and genuinely cares about their experience at Hickleton. And for our visitors, she makes sure they receive the warm welcome that Hickleton is known for.

Sarah cares deeply about the people around her, and that shines through in everything she does. She gives so much of herself to the club, its members, its staff and its future.

There really aren’t enough words to describe what Sarah means to Hickleton Golf Club.

Sarah, you are quite simply Hickleton through and through , and we are incredibly lucky to have you at the heart of our club. ❤️

Captains’ Away Day 2026 ⛳

Mr Captain and Mr Vice Captain along with 60 plus members of Hickleton  golf club had a fantastic day out on the course, taking the Hickleton spirit with them to Wortley Golf Club

A great day of golf, plenty of good company and, a warm welcome.

A huge thank you to Wortley Golf Club for the fantastic hospitality and for helping make it such an enjoyable day.

Congratulations to one of our own, Reece Samson ! We couldn’t be prouder of you and couldn’t think of anyone better to fly the flag for Hickleton Golf Club on this incredible opportunity.

Your Hickleton family are right behind you every step of the way. Go and enjoy every minute of it , we’ll all be cheering you on!

"Very proud to say after finishing 2nd in the Yorkshire Order of Merit after a close battle with James Walker (congrats on 1st place pal) I’ll be teeing it up in the Bermuda Open next month at Port Royal GC! 🇧🇲

This is something I’ve always wanted to achieve since the Andrew Smith made this a thing and after setting it as one of my top goals for the year I’m very happy I managed to qualify after some solid finishes in these events over 2026!
Massive thanks has to go out to Andrew Smith and everyone involved with the Yorkshire PGA and all the sponsors for making this possible, couldn’t be anymore thankful for the opportunity!
Will look forward to representing the county, and to represent Hickleton Golf Club especially after all their support since I started there a few months ago ⛳️🏌🏽‍♂️
Will also be looking forward to representing Yorkshire in the Inter-County finals next month too at Hadley Wood!"

The second of Reece’s summer camps at Hickleton Golf Club is almost fully booked, with just three spaces remaining!

It’s fantastic to see so many juniors getting involved ,from those taking their first steps into golf to those who have already caught the golfing bug.

The camp will be packed with fun, games and plenty of golf, with activities on the putting green and driving range, finishing with a fun sport-themed game. And of course, there’ll be prizes up for grabs!

Growing Young Golfers at Hickleton

⛳ Junior golf at Hickleton Golf Club is all about learning, developing and having fun!

We’re proud to offer a thriving and welcoming Junior Section for all ages and abilities, supported by our outstanding professional team and a coaching programme designed to help every young golfer grow in confidence and develop their game.

Our juniors can enjoy:

• Weekly Junior Golf Competitions

• An annual calendar packed with junior events

• Opportunities to represent Hickleton in Sheffield Union Junior tournaments

• A dedicated golf pathway in conjunction with US Kids Golf

• Expert coaching in a fun, structured and supportive environment

• Our Junior Academy Course, helping young golfers progress at their own pace before making the step onto the main course
