Stormy autumn, cold winter - how might El Niño affect the UK weather?

El Niño is developing right now across the Pacific Ocean - thousands of miles away

from the UK.

Its most profound impacts may well be centred around this area, with the

increased risk of flooding and landslides in Peru and Ecuador and the threat of

droughts and wildfires in Australia.

However the disruption caused to global wind patterns means the impacts will

ripple right across the globe.

The Met Office says the UK weather is likely to be affected, with the growing

chance that autumn and early winter will be wet and stormy.

No two El Niños are the same - so, while it may increase the chance of certain

types of weather occurring, this is not guaranteed.

New wheels feature carbon spokes, a unique aero hub design, titanium ni***es and

more

Columbus is legendary the world over for providing some of the best steel tubing

to frame builders and bike brands, but now it has launched a four-strong range of

carbon road wheelsets.

When I spoke to Columbus and Cinelli chairman Victor Luis at the start of the year,

he mentioned the brand was finalising the development of wheelsets as part of an

expanding range of Columbus components.

Yellow weather warnings issued as thunderstorms and flooding forecast

Yellow weather warnings have been issued by the Met Office as heavy rain and

thunderstorms are forecast to break out over parts of the UK later this week.

The warnings span Wednesday and Thursday and include parts of east Wales, the

Midlands, northern England, East Anglia and southern England - including London.

It is likely to be the one of the most widespread outbreaks of heavy rain across

southern and central parts of the UK this summer.

While good news for regions plagued by drought, significant accumulations could

lead to flash flooding where the ground is too dry and hard to absorb the

downpours. Lightning, large hail and gusty winds are also possible.
