Our new Squash Coach Award is open for sign-up, with the first course taking place at Newlands Lawn Tennis Club on November 7th and December 5th.

Participants will cover a range of topics including:

✅ Keeping squash safe and fun for all
✅ Including everyone in your coaching
✅ Supporting player development

Upon completion, coaches will hold a nationally recognised qualification and be confident in leading coaching sessions at any club in Scotland!

Congratulations to the U23 National Champions for 2026, Rory Richmond and Sophie Ballentyne! 🏆🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Rory goes back to back with a victory over Murdo Mackenzie🥈(3-0) and an incredible run from Sophie Ballentyne ended with victory over Anna-Jane Singh🥈 (2-1, Singh retirement) in the final.

The men’s 3rd place was achieved by Finlay Halton🥉and the women’s by Phoebe Hamilton🥉.

Special thanks to SSRC, officials and the players for a fabulous weekend of squash!

The first day of the Scottish National U23 Championships are drawing to a close here at Scottish Squash Rackets Club, Glasgow. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

There have been plenty of strong performances including Sophie Ballentyne and Thomas Myers both beating there seeding so far. ⭐️

Looking to lead your own coaching sessions and help players develop their game? The Squash Coach Award is designed for aspiring coaches who want to gain the confidence, knowledge and practical skills to deliver high-quality squash coaching.

✅Scottish Coaching Certificate Level 6 (Scottish Higher equivalent)
✅2-day course (plus online learning)
✅Suitable for ages 16+

You'll learn how to plan and deliver safe, fun and engaging sessions, support player development, include everyone in your sessions, analyse performance and develop your own coaching philosophy.

The course includes extensive on-court learning, tutor support and guidance to create a personal coaching action plan, helping you continue your development after the course.

Whether you're stepping into coaching for the first time or looking to formalise your skills, the Squash Coach Award is the ideal next step.

The pilot course is at Newlands Lawn Tennis Club, with the first in-person day on Saturday 7th November.

Scotland’s premier junior event is one Europe’s leading junior squash tournaments and a key fixture on the international junior calendar. 🌏

Grow Your Coaching Team with the Squash Activator Award

Want more people helping with coaching sessions at your club? The Squash Activator Award is a practical, fun one-day course that prepares volunteers, parents, older juniors and club members to support coaching and participation activities.

✅5-hour face-to-face course
✅£40 per person
✅Available for clubs with 6+ participants
✅Suitable for ages 14+ (13-year-olds can be nominated by clubs on a case by case basis)

Participants learn the basics of delivering fun, safe and engaging squash sessions, making it an ideal first step in developing your club's coaching and volunteer workforce.

From the new Squash Activator Award, to the enhanced Squash Coach Award, and expanded CPD opportunities, the framework recognises that coaches work across a range of environments, and not everyone needs or wants to follow a rigid qualification pathway.
