Cramlington United Reserves 0 - 2 Felling Magpies FC

We made changes to last week's starting 11 that drew 2-2 at home to Gosforth Bohemians Reserves hoping to maintain our unbeaten start to the season. πŸ’ͺ

Cramlington had the better of the first half possession and exchanges without causing us real issue. Cramlington had several half chances through the first half which didn’t cause Mark Bennell trouble in goal. Mid way through the first half, an injury to Bennell saw him struggle through to half time with an ankle injury and LB Ryan Heron forced off with an ankle injury which forced early changes. We struggled to create real goal scoring opportunities during the half with several half chances for our attacking line.

We took the lead with 5 minutes left of the first half, a long pass from Rav flicked on by Ross found Reece Jordison in behind the Cramlington defence who side footed a volley from just inside the box past the keeper.

This was quickly followed by a volley from Lewis Donnelly at the back post after good work down the right and a deep cross from Josh Sample to make it 2-0 just before half time.

The second half was much of the same with both teams having periods of possession but struggling to create clear cut opportunities but, resolute defending from us saw out a clean sheet and a 2-0 victory.

Special mention to stand in goalkeeper in the second half, CB Shaun Ravenhall.

A few sloppy mistakes costing us from keeping another clean sheet and a few missed chances to make it a cricket score. One of those days.
