Fresh off their big win on Silver Saturday, Lenzie Women have headed overseas to compete in the Majorca Beach Rugby tournament! 🌴🏉

In the pool stages, they’ll face a team from England… as well as our friends from Oban and Hillhead Jordanhill 🤪
Nice to travel all that way for a bit of Scottish opposition, at least it’s in the sun this time! ☀️

🚨 Match Result 🚨

Lenzie Women made the long trip south to Annan for their semi-final clash, fully aware they were in for a tough contest against familiar and formidable opposition. While a snow-covered Lenzie was left behind, conditions in Annan were perfect for rugby, setting the stage for a fiercely competitive encounter. 🏉

Annan struck first, capitalising on space out wide to cross the line and add the conversion for an early 7–0 lead. Lenzie responded well before the break, executing a powerful lineout drive with forwards and backs combining effectively, allowing Aimee Dallas to power over and narrow the score to 7–5 at half-time. 💪

The second half remained tightly contested, with both sides battling hard for control. Lenzie edged ahead when Jocelyn Glennie slotted a crucial penalty from in front of the posts to make it 7–8. 🎯

With only minutes remaining, tension rose as Annan pushed deep into Lenzie territory following a penalty. However, a determined defensive stand saw Vhairi Sands steal possession at a critical moment, before Aimee Dallas calmly cleared to touch to seal a dramatic 8–7 victory. 🎉

A thrilling contest to the very end and a repeat of last year, with just a single point separating the sides. 🔥

Plenty of consistency in the selection, with a squad that’s been performing throughout the season 🤝🏼

Great to see some of our Senior Women down at Allan Glen’s today supporting the Girls Section at their tournament! 💪🏉

The girls were absolutely brilliant. They showed great skill, teamwork and real rugby values while playing in mixed teams alongside players from other clubs. It was fantastic to see everyone getting stuck in, enjoying plenty of game time and making new connections across the rugby community.

We were especially impressed with those slick offloads 👀 We might even need a coaching session from them soon!

So proud of the group and the way they represented the club today. Seeing the talent and enthusiasm coming through makes us really excited for the future of women’s rugby at Lenzie. 💙💛❤️

Today we celebrate the incredible women who make our club what it is. 💜🏉

This International Women’s Day we’re proud to celebrate the growth and achievements of Lenzie Rugby Club Women.

Since the team was founded in 2018, the women’s section has gone from strength to strength. This season marks another huge milestone for the club, with both a 1XV and a 2XV women’s team taking the field, a testament to the dedication, passion and commitment of everyone involved.
