🏆 PLAYER OF THE MATCH | STEWARTRY

Our first away fixture in West 1, with plenty for the girls to take away from the 80 minutes.

Well done to our Player of the Match, Lucy, who put in a great shift!

“Our first away game in West 1 was always going to be a challenge, coming up against a very physical and experienced Stewartry side.

The score obviously wasn’t what we wanted from the game, but I think it’s important to acknowledge that there were some good moments throughout. The girls worked hard for the whole game and created two really well-worked tries.

Lots to take away from this game, but now we put it behind us and get ready to take on Bishopton at home this Sunday!”

A huge congratulations to Molly, our Player of the Match from Sunday’s league opener against Hills 2s! 👏

Molly reflected on the game:

“It was really good to get the season started with such a competitive game! Moving up to West 1 was definitely a new challenge, but I think we started the game really well and managed to hold our own against quite a tough opposition. I’m really proud of the team!

Despite the loss, I think we pushed Hills and showed what we are capable of, and I’m looking forward to developing this with the team further as we get more into the season!”*

What a start to our first league game against Hill’s yesterday! We came out with intensity and set the tone from the start, with plenty of girls stepping up and showing what we’re capable of.

The Women’s team kick off their league campaign with a strong 22-player squad. Despite a few familiar names being unavailable, there’s plenty of quality ready to take to the pitch!

Vic Halstvedt steps into the captain’s role, with Morgan Lamont and Eva Galloway taking on vice-captain duties.

Two notable additions see Heather Nicol and Katie Lister make their debuts in a Lenzie shirt. 🙌

🔥 MONDAY NIGHT INTENSITY! 🔥

The countdown is ON! With our first game in the new West 1 league this Sunday, tonight’s session was all about bringing the intensity! 💪🏉

A massive welcome back to Adam, our former coach, who brought his trademark intensity back to training with a contact drill that’s guaranteed to leave a few sore bodies in the morning! 😤💥 We’re absolutely thrilled to have him back on board as we take on this exciting new challenge!

Our U18s were back with us too. They now train alongside our women every week, getting stuck into senior sessions and developing their skills. Tonight, they got a tackle masterclass from Head Coach Steven, going right back to basics. 🏉

We also welcomed our local neighbours from Women’s Touch team, who are looking to make the move into contact rugby. They jumped straight into the tackling session and got stuck in! 💪 We’re delighted to have them along and look forward to seeing them at future sessions.

🚨 BIG NEWS 🚨

The 2026/27 fixtures are confirmed... and we've got even more exciting news to share!

After an incredible season that saw our Women's Team finish 2nd in West Division 2 and lift the National Plate trophy, their hard work has been rewarded with promotion to West Division 1 thanks to a league restructure! 👏🏆

It seems 2nd place is our lucky number after all! 😅

We're incredibly proud of everything this squad achieved last season and can't wait to see them test themselves against new opposition in West Division 1. A big challenge awaits, but we're ready for it!
