Pollok Utd SMAFC 🤝 Harry’s Corkerhill

We are delighted to announce that Harry the owner of Harry’s Corkerhill has sponsored both our Home and Away Kits for Season 26/27! Harry and his family have recently taken over the shop next to Nethercraigs on Corkerhill Road and has invested a lot renovating and transforming the shop and already got all the community coming to get the essentials and more.

We are buzzing to have Harry on board supporting the boys and the local club. Can’t wait to get our hands on the kits and have them hanging up in the shop!

Woodbank AFC - “That’s all Folks”

Saturdays game was the last for Woodbank as a club in its current form. Woodbank was started for the purpose of providing a place for players who had fallen away from football to get back into it and get back enjoying it. I think it has done just that as there’s boys who came to us after being out for a while and are either still here or joined other teams but still playing and gives me great satisfaction. Want to thank every player who put on a Woodbank strip for the Amatuers and 35’s for the last 3 years. Especially some of the longer serving players for the Amatuer team! All coaches and managers for their time and effort into improving the squad.

Woodbank AFC 25/26 Appreciation Post 🟡⚫️🟣

On behalf of the Coaches a massive thank you to all the players who contributed this season. From preseason it was clear how much potential we have in this squad and its been a season of hard work and a test of our resilience at times but that’s Amatuer football, it’s always unpredictable with what can happen and that’s why we do it and this season we have had a great group of lads that we can take forward into our next chapter and hopefully unlock that potential!

A great start saw us take a 2-0 lead with a spectacular from founder Jegs which we are use too now. Touch and volley from 35 yards over the keeper for 1-0⚽️! Then another returning player and last years POTY Doc doing what he does best pressing CB’s and nicked the ball to run through and finish for 2-0⚽️⚽️!! Bit of romance with the 2 scorers today - well done lads👏🏼!!

We then lost abit of control and a few decisions against us out the heads down and Busby get momentum and take a 4-2 lead. 2 goals for us chopped for offside?… 🫠! 4-2 Busby HT! The 2nd half Busby were the better team as we played like it was the last game of the season and seemed to have little in the tank. The boys fought on and from 6-2 down pulled another goal with Jegs linking up to lay it for Doc to score. A fitting way for Woodbank to officially finish with the 2 having the last say! All the best to Joe and the Busby boys🤝!
