Johnathan was beekeeping the end of last week and took these pictures of our plastic wax coated foundation in 14x12 frames. He forgot to put the removable tray into the floor and this is why the bees have not drawn the foundation right to the bottom but after ten days and one gallon of syrup per hive all the frames were built out to the same degree!!

What do you think of these four WBC hives, they are from our budget range, the painted ones can be had as an outer shell only and painted for £364 and if you wanted complete with the brood chambers, supers, queen excluder, crown board and frames they will £573.

We now have BS 14×12 Deep Plastic Foundation – Per 10 Sheets (Waxed BLACK) for £26.00 inc vat + p&p, comes with 2 clips to support the foundation at the bottom bars, there will be approx. 5mm gap between the plastic foundation and the bottom bars which the bees normally build down to meet the bottom bars.
