R.A.D. Acid Athletics Workout shoutout 🔥
Massive well done to everyone who took on the R.A.D. Acid Athletics workout this Wednesday… especially in that heat 🥵
That was not a “take it easy” kind of session.
It was one of those workouts where you find out a bit about your fitness, push a little harder than usual, and have to dig in when it starts to bite.
Exactly the point.
Plenty of effort, and a lot of people surprising themselves with what they had in the tank.

A few months ago, Matt joined us at Glevum Fitness after being recommended by his brother, who’s been training with us since last summer.
Like a lot of busy dads, he was struggling to make commercial gyms work. Training felt repetitive, motivation was low and he wasn’t seeing the progress he wanted.
Now, he’s regularly in our 6AM class getting his training done before the rest of the day begins.
No wasted time. No wondering what to do. Just structured coaching, challenging sessions and a supportive community that makes it easier to stay consistent.
One thing Matt said really stood out:
“The coaches create an atmosphere where you actually want to keep showing up.”
That’s what we want training to feel like.
For busy adults balancing work, family and everything else life throws at them, fitness needs to fit into real life whilst still helping you feel stronger, fitter and more confident.
We’re proud of the progress Matt has already made in just a couple of months 👏

🏅 HYROX CARDIFF — OUR FIRST TIMERS SMASHED IT!
Last May Bank Holiday weekend, a group of our members headed down to Cardiff and took on their very first Hyrox — and we couldn't be more proud of every single one of them!
For anyone who doesn't know, Hyrox is 8km of running broken up by 8 functional fitness stations — think sled pushes, sled drags, wall balls, rowing, ski erg and more. To give you an idea of what's involved, some of our members took around the 1 hour 25 minute mark to finish, that is a long time of continuous hard work!
What makes this extra special is that a lot of what they faced on the day hadn't even come up in training, they trusted the fitness they'd built and it showed!
That's exactly what our programme is about — building real, usable fitness that means you can take on things you never thought you could. And that's exactly what this group did!!
We love seeing our members push themselves into new territory and come out the other side with a massive smile on their face!!

Big shoutout to Lawrence, who’s taking on the London Marathon this weekend, running in support of Samaritans 👊
He joined us back in August with a clear goal… get stronger and be in the best possible shape going into race day.
And to be fair, he’s done exactly that.
It’s been great watching the work he’s put in over the last few months, and we’re all buzzing to see him take this on.

✨ Celebrating Jo ✨
A big shout out to Jo this week 👏
We’ve been lucky enough to have Jo as part of the Glevum community almost since the very beginning — and honestly, it wouldn’t be the same without her smiley, bouncy self around! We love the chats, the giggles, and the energy she brings. It really is just as much about the social side as it is the exercise 💛
Despite having a tough time recently with ongoing hip pain, Jo has stayed incredibly consistent with her training. More than that, she’s taken the time to really understand what her body needs right now. Rather than pushing through discomfort, she’s making smart adjustments, focusing on controlled strength work, and steadily building herself back up 💪
She’s been open in her goal reviews, proactive in asking questions, and fully committed to finding a way to keep progressing — which is exactly what long-term fitness is all about.
It’s not always about doing more… sometimes it’s about doing the *right* things, really well — and Jo is a perfect example of that. Jo now has her set routine which allows her to still come in, work out and be part of the community with us while focusing on the areas she needs to! 🙌

🌟 Member Spotlight: Liberty 🌟
When Liberty first walked through the doors at Glevum, she was simply looking for a change. The gym she had been at had become repetitive, a bit uninspiring… and she wanted something that challenged her again.
Fast forward to now, and she’s become a completely different athlete.
Over the past few months, Liberty has quietly built an incredible foundation of strength and confidence:
She’s now hitting multiple strict pull-ups
She’s confidently using kipping pull-ups in workouts — and loving them!
She’s doing solid push-ups, something she never thought would be possible!
“Being able to do more than I thought I could.”
That’s been the theme throughout her journey so far. Genuinely surprising herself with what she’s capable of.
And she’s not stopping there… muscle-ups are next on the list 👀
Not only has Liberty been building her strength and training capacity— she has been building friendships!
Through showing up consistently, Liberty has found herself part of an amazing group of girls from the gym, running together on weekends, supporting each other, and pushing each other on!
“I’ve made a nice little friendship group from the gym — I’ve never had that before, it makes training so much more fun!!”
We absolutely love hearing this... Finding training partners and making friends is what keeps it fun! We pride ourselves on having such a wonderful bunch of humans here with us at Glevum.

Big thank you to everyone who came down on Friday for our Good Friday Community Workout 🙌
We had just shy of 50 of you in at once… which was, as expected, a bit chaotic (in the best way). Loads of energy, plenty of hard work, and a lot of laughs along the way.
Exactly how it should be.
Afterwards we hung around for hot cross buns, mini eggs, tea and coffee, all put together by Anita and her team of angels. Honestly, you made it what it was, so thank you ❤️
Also loved seeing Sarah and Deb come down with their little ones. Those moments matter more than anything and are a big part of what makes this place what it is.
We’ll definitely be doing more of these before summer hits 👊

The Man, The Myth, The Legend... Max.
Max has has been absolutely leading from the front over the past few months 👏
Since the New Year, Max has thrown himself into the cardio challenge with the coaches– committing to daily movement with a 5km run, row or ski (or a 10km bike 🚴♂️)… and he’s stuck with it!
He even completed his first EVER 10km run with Coach Dan last week 😅 (By all accounts he got slightly conned into it… but made it look easy anyway!)
Max is feeling fitter, more energised, and back enjoying getting back to CrossFit after having focused on his lifting for a few months.
He’s made a big commitment to himself by stepping things up to 4–5 sessions per week, regularly hitting the 5:30pm classes, and surrounding himself with a great group of people to train alongside.
"The social side has been a game changer for me, I really just enjoy coming and seeing my friends" 🙌
Next up? The Wotton 10km race 🏃♂️ – a brilliant goal to keep that momentum rolling!
Max is a great example of what happens when you find your rhythm, your people, and stay consistent!
Keep it up mate – we’re loving watching the progress 👊

Nicky's journey has been amazing to watch.
Since starting with us, she's lost over 45kg (100lbs). Of course, there have been ups and downs along the way-weeks where things felt easy, others where life got in the way-but she's stayed consistent with her training, and that's made all the difference.
Along the way, she's not just changed physically. She's made incredible friends, become a big part of the community, and genuinely loves training with our coaches. Having that support and encouragement each week has helped her stay on track and keep progressing.
Now, Nicky's confidence and fitness have opened up new adventures. She travels regularly for work, goes on horseback riding trips, hits the slopes in winter for skiing, and has explored places like Japan and Canada-with plans to see even more.
45kg down is impressive, yes-but the life she's creating for herself, full of energy, confidence, and new experiences, is just as inspiring.
