Boy are we delighted to be posting this. So off the back of a reasonably solid year in tinsel green 😂😂Kilano Brathwaite he has agreed to return to Speedwell for another campaign in 2027. His numbers are unreal but that’s only part of the story. He has a great cricket brain and is also a top top lad. He has settled in to the Tinsel family and feels like he’s been here for years. He will travel home in a few weeks and then will be spending the winter in Australia before returning. We are buzzing to have this boxed off, wish him well for his time in Australia and will be welcoming him back next spring. 🏏💚🤍🇧🇧🇦🇺

So a bitter sweet weekend for our senior sides. First team got us off to a good start with a win on the road to the very impressive High Lane Cricket Club. Runs from Damo, Saqib and Kilano saw us set 180 and a devastating spell from Aamir backed up by Will blew the hosts away. It saw us retain 3rd spot and a win on Saturday will confirm this and cap a fantastic season off.

2s were beaten at Speedwell by Kerridge 1st which saw us lose any chance of winning the 3rd division on the last day. Congrats to Hazel Grove Cricket Club on taking the crown and look forward to a good game (all be it not a decider) this weekend.

Finally after securing the Sunday Tameside league last week our 3rds played a tough game on the road in the Sunday league semi final. Our young side were second best on the day, congrats and good luck to Marple Cricket Club in the final. This was the last game for our 3rd Eleven skipper Thompson as he steps down after an amazing 7 years, bringing through a raft of juniors into senior cricket and helping set the club up for the future. Well done mate 👏

So we go into the last game of the season with the 1s at home to New Mills Cricket hoping to finish the season strong and secure 3rd spot. Then there will be a few drink on at the bar afterward to celebrate an amazing season. 🏏💚🤍🍺

Rain stop play 🛑 !! Not at a Tornettoes Pink Stumps Festival 🏏. Amazing day dipping in and out of the showers getting the games on. Raising money for such a worthy cause Breast Cancer Now. Mottram taking the final against Stalybridge but ultimately the winners today are spotlighting Women’s cricket and raising awareness for such worthy causes. Some pics and a few very special videos which sum up the amazing people we have at this cricket club.

Not how we wanted to achieve it with a washed out game but our 3rd eleven took the Sunday - Tameside division title this morning. To be fair nobody can deny they have been the best team in the division and a massive congrats to Martin and his young side. A fitting way for our skipper to step down from a role he has had for 7 years and give our juniors an amazing platform to move from junior to senior cricket. The 3rds now play Marple CC away in the divisional semi finals.

When one door opens another closes and yesterday’s wash out against Dove Holes saw our very slim chance of winning Division 1 disappear. With 2 games to go we will be looking to finish strong and secure a top 3 position, something we are all very proud of. At Christmas for many reason we were many peoples favourites for relegation so we are really pleased with what has been achieved so far.

Finally our 2s have 2 games to try and wrestle division 3 from Hazel Groves grasp. A last game of the season decider on the cards which I think will be a fair way for the title to be decided.

So before this weekend all 3 senior men’s teams in the title mix up, not to shabby. Hope the rain stays off for the T20 finals day and our ladies softball festival 💚🤍🏏😎🍺
