A sweep of podium finishes for GBR sailors!

From compelling comebacks, to defending champions, Great Britain delivered it all at the second edition of the World Sailing Inclusion Championships in Portimão.

Standout performances included Great Britain’s James Coxon, who delivered a remarkable return to sailing winning the Para Inclusive One-Person Multihull title in the Challenger class.

Great Britain’s Lucy Hodges, Jamie Tylecote, Liam Cattermole and Steve Tylecote successfully defended their Vision Impairment title, completing another outstanding performance in the RS21 fleet.

The championships also marked an important milestone for Inclusive Wingfoil, with Charlie Wolf from Great Britain maintaining his gold medal position with compatriot Jazz Turner in silver position.

UKHO seeks feedback on ADMIRALTY paper chart pricing.

Paper charts continue to play an important role in supporting safe navigation for many mariners, often alongside digital navigation tools. As part of its ongoing work to ensure the long-term sustainability of its paper chart service, the UKHO has been exploring changes to the way ADMIRALTY paper charts are produced, maintained and updated.

"Sailing gave me a place to feel good at something"

Before discovering sailing, Anna's life felt lonely and uncertain. After leaving school because she was struggling, she had little routine and few opportunities to connect with others.

Anna, who is autistic, first tried sailing at West Wilts Sailing Club after encouragement from her Dad. She was nervous and didn't enjoy her first session, but with the support of a good instructor she kept coming back — and fell in love with being on the water.

Basic sea survival techniques are lifesaving.

Hopefully you’ll never need to use a life raft, but if you do find yourself in difficulty, you are more likely to survive if you know what to expect.

Our one-day Sea Survival course will prepare you to stay alive in an emergency, showing you how to make the best use of a liferaft and the safety equipment onboard your boat. As well as some basic techniques on how to survive and how to be found.

Could an electrical fault ruin your day on the water? 🚤

Before you leave the marina, take just a few minutes to check these five essential electrical systems on your boat.

Paul from PSI Marine explains the simple checks every sailboat and motor cruiser owner should carry out before heading out. These quick inspections can help prevent breakdowns, improve safety, and give you confidence that your boat is ready for the trip.

Learn how to check:
• Your battery voltage and charging system
• Alternator output
• Chart plotter and GPS operation
• VHF radio functionality
• Bow thruster and anchor windlass
• Navigation lights
• Bilge pumps and float switches
