💜🩵⚽️ ELEVATE WILDCATS — FIRST GAME! ⚽️🩵💜
What a brilliant first outing for our brand-new Elevate Wildcats🐾⚽
With the league introducing new rules capping squads at 14 players, we created Wildcats to give our girls and some new girl’s the opportunity to play, develop and enjoy the beautiful game.
We have 12 players who currently play together in our Unity mixed league team. Half of the Unity girls play in our U11 Faithettes, while the other half have joined Wildcats. This has allowed us to balance experience with brand-new players, while keeping both girls’ leagues equal, competitive and, most importantly, enjoyable for everyone.
And what makes this first game even more special? The girls had never played together before and hadn’t even had a training session!
A huge thank you to Culdrose for a fantastic friendly. It was a great opportunity for both squads to learn, develop and gain valuable experience.
A massive well done to all of our Wildcats players including three girls playing their very first ever game! 💪⚽ What an achievement!
⭐ Players’ Player — Martha
Martha covered every blade of grass, putting in tackle after tackle and playing a huge part in getting the ball moving forward. An incredible work rate from start to finish!
⭐ Coaches’ Player — Nola
Nola worked her socks off across three different positions and, like Martha, simply never stopped running. Brave runs down the wing, taking players on, combined with some excellent link-up play created some fantastic attacking moments.
We still have more players to join the squad who weren’t available for this fixture, so there is plenty more to come from this group. But to see them come together, support each other and play as a team after no training sessions together was brilliant.
We’re so excited to see lots of new faces out on the pitch, falling in love with this beautiful game. ❤️⚽
