Kilwinning Sports Club stands firmly with Ardeer Thistle FC after the break‑in at Ardeer Stadium. Incidents like this are a stark reminder of how vital proper community football clubs are, places built by volunteers, sustained by local pride, and relied upon by hundreds of young people and families every single week. When a facility like Ardeer is damaged, it’s not just bricks and mortar that are affected; it’s the heart of a community space that gives opportunities, belonging and purpose to so many. Clubs like Ardeer Thistle are pillars of grassroots football across North Ayrshire and the wider West of Scotland, and they deserve protection, respect and solidarity. We offer our full support as they deal with this frustrating setback and hope those responsible are held accountable.

🏆 HALL OF FAME 2026 | TAM McLAUGHLAN

Almost two years on from his passing, we are proud to announce Tam McLaughlan as the next inductee into the Kilwinning Rangers Hall of Fame.

A true Buffs stalwart, Tam dedicated more than 50 years of service to Kilwinning Rangers.

For generations of supporters, Tam was one of the most familiar faces at the club, often the first person you would see as he manned the gate on a matchday.

More than half a century of loyalty and service to Kilwinning Rangers.

On Saturday 26th September, we’ll proudly honour that contribution and officially welcome Tam McLaughlan into the Kilwinning Rangers Hall of Fame. 🔵⚪

Based at Ashgrove Workshops in Kilwinning, is a local business that’s firmly part of its community. Much like our own club, community is at the heart of what they do, so it’s a partnership where our values naturally align.

Comments from the manager after today’s game:

“I felt we were very unlucky not to win the game today. Obviously, I’m disappointed that we weren’t able to get the result over the 90 minutes, but if I’m being critical, I felt Caledonian Braves didn’t have to work particularly hard for their goals.

That said, I was really pleased with the character the boys showed to get ourselves back into the game. At that point, I genuinely felt we were going to go on and win it.

It’s difficult for the boys who missed their penalties, but that’s football. These things happen, and it’s important that we stick together and support each other.

While we’re disappointed not to come away with the win, there were a lot of positives to take from today’s performance. We showed good character and resilience, and there’s plenty for us to build on.”

We’ve got a tough run of fixtures coming up, so we need to regroup, get over the disappointment of today, and make sure we kick on together.”
