Happy Wednesday 😊
Today we are exploring pigeon pose and one of its variations .
Lifting back leg and placing into the elbow crease .
Eka Pada Rajakapotasana
Health Benefits
Opens up shoulders and chest.
Stretches thighs, psoas, gluteus and piriformis muscles.
Stretches groins, abdomen, chest, neck and shoulders.
Improves flexibility in hips, pelvis and groin.
Lengthens the flexors of hips.
Opens up hip joints and increases the range of movements .
100% you need to warm up before getting into this pose .. I had to remind myself yoga is a journey as I got myself into this tricky pose 😊
Definitely worth the warm up as I feel the openness in my quads and subtle lift of my heart on this sunny Wednesday.

It’s often the fear of falling we fear the most . Bakasana teaches us that if we fall to get back up and try again..something that can translate to our everyday lives . Don’t get me wrong I had to place a cushion in front of my face just in case lol and that’s ok too 😊💗

One of the many reasons I practice yoga is to help reduce symptoms of hypothyroidism.
I struggled silently for many years before being diagnosed . Finding yoga and taking medication daily has improved my life tremendously.
Yoga benefit on thyroid ..
It can balance your energy, increase flexibility, and relieve stress. There is a connection between stress and hypothyroidism, but certain yoga poses are thought to balance out thyroids that are either underactive or overactive . Several studies have shown the positive effect of yoga on improving thyroid function.

Extended Child's Pose is different from Child's Pose in that the knees are apart, allowing the rib cage to sink deeper, and the arms are extended forward to help lengthen the spine. This pose stretches the spine, hips, knees and relieves tension in the body.
Feeling your connection to the earth in this pose is deeply restorative & grounding xx
