First time the two teams have played each other and the weather was brutal. Still didn’t stop both teams giving 100% and looking for a win.

The game started pretty even with both teams having chances early on. Colts took the lead when Kaleb and Kyran combined with slick passing to play in Max who slotted past the keeper. Bridge of Earn upped the tempo and pressed forward in search of an equaliser. Forcing fouls in dangerous areas and not capitalising from resulting free kicks but did get a penalty, which they scored. Colts defended well but managed to retake the lead after a fast counter attack, Quigley hitting his shot from a tight angle but hit the bar, Jakub who pushed forward was at back post to bundle in.

Bridge of earn kept the pressure on the colts and Lochs keeping us in the game with top class saves but they equalised again after a fast break 2-2. Colts never gave up and started to press for the winner. Couple of fast breaks seen final shots either past the post or over the bar. The third came from a free kick 35 yards out. Kaleb stepped up and hit a powerful dipping shot that went over the keeper and in. 3-2.

The tempo of the game never dropped. Both teams fired up and Bridge of earn pressed for the equaliser. A late free kick edged the box was final chance of the game but boys defended well.

A lot of good performances from the boys.

Parents MOM - Kaleb. His energy, pace and desire to win the ball kept Colts driving forward and took his goal really well 👏👏

Coaches MOM - Kyran. Was solid, direct and a threat the whole match. Great shift he put in and his involvement in the first goal was brilliant play. 👏👏

Match day photos Colts Vs East Fife

Boys knew this was going to be a tough match and certainly stepped up for the occasion. Dug deep and put on a very competitive performance. First half was pretty even with no real chances for either team but just before half time East Fife scored.

0-1 HT

Second half started same as first and east Fife started to press forward with a mixture of great saves from Lochs and the defence holding tight kept the score at 0-1. Colts did have a chance to equalise when a long ball bounced over the EF keeper and he brought Kaleb down for a pen but we missed.

East Fife no 9 then started driving at the defence and scored 2 goals to give EF a 3 goal cushion. Colts attitude was brilliant and never gave up but just couldn’t grab a goal. EF scored 2 more to run out 5-0 winners.

Boys ran their hearts out and took the game to East Fife but they were far more clinical in front of goal taking their chances well.

Man of the match award was a close one where everyone done really well but the votes went to Clark and Quigley. Well done 👏

On to the last cup game Sunday against Bridge of Earn. Boys can take a lot of confidence from that performance and take that into Sundays match.
