Training Camp, Freshers Week, and Week 1, a very busy month for all of us at LUBC. 🌹🌹
The senior training camp saw both senior squads come back to Lancaster 2 weeks before freshers to get our season MOVING. New blade delivery for the senior women, along with lactate testing for both senior squads courtesy of Lancaster Uni Sports and Exercise Science During our training camp many of the club volunteered at Lancaster Race Series Morecombe Marathon as part of our ongoing fundraising efforts to support the club.
Moving into freshers week, with perhaps one of our most successful recruitment campaigns in recent history, with well over 120 wanting to join our novice squads - this is definitely going to be an exciting year club wide!
Novice rowing kicked off in full, with erg tasters, boathouse orientations, swim tests, and the first circuit of the year. And thanks to all the new Novs the first social of the term was a MASSIVE one!!
The end of this week the senior squads have their first race of the season, Dee Autumn Head. More to come on that!!
A little more on our lactate testing, performed by Lancaster Uni Sports and Exercise Science students, for athletes to determine specific training zones and gain greater adaptation going into the upcoming season.
35 athletes across the Senior Men’s and Women’s Squad were tested across two days in the University’s Human Performance Lab.
