As you are all aware James Sinclair teaches a weekly live zoom session (he does have breaks when life dictates!). We now have over 700 ½ hour high quality edited videos in our online collection.
We have just finished editing the last of a 14 week discussion on the Wooden Dummy, covering the form and its variations, coaching, and the applications within Chi Sau, self defence and sparring.
Wing Chun Kuen is sometimes argued as being a set of concepts and not a style. This is evidently a strange idea!
Why of why, is the Art then so evident, by simply looking at a practitioner? From the weight distribution to the methodology of the skills, it is obvious that it is a stylised form of movement.
Therefore, a style!
It seems most people can see many more similarities than differences between different 'clans, heritages, lineages' even simply between different teachers. Why fight being recognised as a style when you share so much?
The questions above are in large part rhetorical and do not require your input or thoughts.

This short video is simply the introduction to our most recent discussion on Lok Sau with movement.
It is obviously a 'stylised' way of training. It is very skilful and enjoyable. Who fights like? No one, but the 'concepts' within (did you like that?) are very useful and cross from sparring and self defence.
If you don't know it, don't train it, and don't understand it, please don't comment on it!
James Sinclair was teaching, and these clips are simply extracted out of the session, not rehearsed or choreographed and often quite slow as he is talking to the audience.

Well this is a blast from the very distant past.
We filmed this way back in 1999 and it comprised a small part of the DVD 'Wing Chun Pure & Simple'.
We found the original DV tapes and this will be the first time anyone has seen this in colour as it was edited and released in an atmospheric black and white (noir)
We hope you enjoy this. As we have mentioned a few times, martial artists are loyal/tribal bunch and very clan based.

TWO FABULOUS SEMINARS.
Next Sunday (28th June 2026) we are holding a fantastic seminar on Gworr Sau. This is one area of that can proudly say we have a lot of experience.
In the modern world of sport and sparring this seminar is a great way to bridge the gap between forms, Chi Sau and fighting.
Toward the end of July we move on to the training and form. This hugely misunderstood training tool has so much to offer.
James will be using his 50 years + experience in the Art to bring this 'lump of wood to life', drawing out some great applications that are unique to the . Classical and experiential skill will mix in this fabulously revealing seminar.
Tradition is only as good as the last person who feared moving forward. We try to keep the Art alive and developing.
After a long wait we are taking on new beginners.
We are enrolling new students for classes on a Monday evening at our National HQ in Rayleigh Essex.
The classes will be conducted by one of James Sinclair's long term students who has over 20 years training experience.
We will always do our best to take on existing students of the Art by placing them in the appropriate level class based on their experience.

Here is the intro clip to our recent Zoom presentation on Lok Sau.
Lok Sau is a great exercise for developing particular skills in the Art of . A great way to practice and build fast reactive responses, strength and timing, within certain parameters.
These tiny extracts are from the live session and are not demo pieces, simply moments teaching.
Lok Sau is not a universally trained skill in Wing Chun and where it is, it can be a very simple and unrewarding method of training.
In the we use this method to allow students to quickly differentiate the inside and outside gates, the high and mid levels and to relax under pressure from powerful grabs, pulls, hooks and straight strikes. These are of great value in transposing the Art into free sparring. Yes we SPAR, hard!!!
James Sinclair often takes traditional Wing Chun training methodology and creates extra uses that are valuable to take into free fighting. It has been his experience that many exercises have limited value. However, with a bit more work and experimentation, variations can bring even greater rewards.

CHAM KIU SEMINAR
James will be teaching his unique and detailed study on the Cham Kiu form this Sunday. James was recognised at the 2005 2nd World Ving Tsun conference for his skill and experience in bringing the Art of the forms into free fighting. This seminar is one of his favourites to teach.

teacher James Sinclair will be teaching a seminar on the Cham Kiu Form toward the end of this month (April 2026).
Last month James taught the Siu Nim Tao in huge detail, focusing on the application of the Art.
Scheduled are seminars on Kicking/Chi Gerk and Footwork, Chi Sau, Wooden Dummy and Gworr Sau.
