Pacing wins prizes - well done to Dave for hitting his time right on the snout ๐at our recent takeover Croxteth Hall parkrun
That is two sets of the coveted socks this young man now has. Dave will now be the envy of all of West Derby with his Shamrocks on his ankles ๐ฎ๐ช๐ฎ๐ช

Thursday Liverpool Irish Rovers Social 18 6 26
Run report produced by: Danny Williams
There was an old lady who swallowed a fly... and tonight, so did one of our runners! ๐ชฐ๐คข
โA venue change due to road closures didn't stop the Rovers from taking over West Derby tonight! We met at Deysbrook Tesco in the muggy heat, instantly picking up an es**rt of three local kids on mountain bikes who fancied themselves as our new pace cars. ๐ฒ๐
โWe escaped into the park, which is where the fly-swallowing tragedy occurred. Cue a load of coughing, spitting, and a massive group debate trying to remember the rest of the old nursery rhyme. We got as far as the spider and a cow... but the rest is a mystery. Help us outโdrop the next line in the comments! ๐๐
โWe sweated cobs all the way to Brookside for our photo before sprinting back for a well-earned reward. Even standing in a literal puddle of our own sweat, you can't turn down Patโs Brews (the best in all the land) and a brownie from Gillโeven if she did threaten to mush it in my face over a Superlambanana treasure hunt ruling! ๐ซ๐

โฑ๏ธ Our very own Co-Run Director, Carol
If you wanted a PB, those were the vests to follow!
Volunteer roll of honour ๐
Our hi-vis heroes kept everyone safe, smiling and on course. Special mention to the volunteers who picked up spot prizes... and to fellow Run Director Jennie who bagged the coveted Daniel OโDonnell socks ๐งฆ๐
Where else would you get prizes like that?
Thank you to Croxteth Hall parkrun for having us, to every volunteer who gave up their Saturday morning, and to every runner and walker who brought the LIR energy.
Days like today are why we do this. Community, miles, craic, and questionable knitwear.
Same again soon?

Quite surprised it wasn't raining when we got there tonight. It'd been lashing down most of the day. Had no idea what route we were doing but needn't have worried as it was back to the 'classic' Newsham Park route. Posed for a photo and headed off down West Derby Road. Thanks to the roadworks we were the fastest thing moving in that direction. Got into the park and regrouped by the bin. Realised it was quite humid and by the time we got to the next regroup I wasn't the only one. It was around now the cycling to work and back started taking its toll and my pace dropped. At the Police Station we checked in with Mountain Rescue, put the St Bernards on notice and then struck out fot the summit of Newsham Park Mountain. Luckily the emergency services weren't required cos we are affletes innit.
Got given the keys to the shed and Pats car to get the brews ready but had strict instructions 'Don't be rummaging in my boot' ๐ซช Didn't realise Pat was pullin me leg ๐คฃ๐คฃ Back at The Centre I didn't know the code for the Padlock and didn't have my glasses even if I did but Joe came to the rescue. By the time the shed was open, Pat was back and the Brews started to flow. Despite the humidity we all stayed in the shed and Poppy produced some baked goods which we washed down with Pats Brews , aka The elixir of eternal youth. All talk was of Saturday's Irish Rovers Croxteth Hall parkrun Takeover and how we are looking forward to a green invasion ๐ REMEMBER TO WEAR GREEN ๐๐ค๐งก๐ฎ๐ช
Soon it was time to leave. This time I made sure I had returned all keys to their rightful owners ๐คฃ๐คฃ

MONDAY SOCIAL WRAP-UP | Bean There โ The Mystery โ๏ธ
We _bean_ there, done that, and loved every minute!
Brilliant turnout at Bean There Coffee Shop for our Monday Social. 6:15pm warm-up in the sunshine, then our 5k runners and walking group with Eamonn & Alan headed off for a scenic loop up to the Mystery.
All ages, all paces, skateboards included. All children must be accompanied by an adult who runs or walks with them. Thatโs the LIR way.
Blue skies, top chat, and a proper warm welcome from the Bean There team before and after. Coffee + miles + community = Monday sorted.
Thanks to everyone who came down, walked, ran, cheered and brought the good vibes.
Next Monday 16th June: Weโre BACK AT GREENBANK๐ณ
6:15pm warm-up | 6:30pm 5k run/walk/jog

Race 5: Supersonic Series - Groovy Train | Irish Centre Fleg Debut
All aboard! ๐๐ดโโ ๏ธ
The Groovy Train rolled through Knowsley with the hills in full flow... and a new standard bearer. The Irish Centre fleg made its Supersonic Series debut tonight.
Very Highlands. Very _Highland Paddy_. Very Rovers.
Up and down those Knowsley climbs with the green and white flying high from the Irish Centre. Brilliant turnout under the new fleg ๐
Mon & Thurs hill sessions + Irish Centre pride = Supersonic stuff.
Only 1 race left. The flegโs got the taste for it now.
Who raced under the Irish Centre fleg tonight? Drop a ๐ดโโ ๏ธ + โฐ๏ธ if you spotted it on the hills ๐
