We had a great conversation in some of our classes last week that I feel really strongly about…

You have to WANT it 🔥

As teachers, we can encourage you, inspire you and help ignite that hunger to succeed. But something has to switch inside your own head that says, “Right. I want this. I’m going to do my absolute best right now.”
Not worrying or even thinking about next week or next year, just right now, being present and giving it your all ❤️

We were talking about dance, but the conversation went much further than that. Because this carries into everything. Whatever you choose to do with your life, you have to care about it. You have to want it. You can’t just wait for everything to come to you.

I think we sometimes expect young people to understand that without actually talking to them about it. If we never have that conversation, how do we help ignite that hunger? 🧨

I want our dancers to find that feeling for themselves. That “I want this” moment. That decision to give it everything they’ve got.
I get quite passionate about this because I don’t think it’s discussed enough, and we need passionate, enthusiastic humans in this world who are hungry to succeed 🔥
Dance is a wonderful vehicle for learning this important trait 💕

Our acro classes are flying!🔥

At IDA, we don’t do acro just to be great at acro…
although we are rather good 😉🙊🤩

We do it because we know it makes strong, versatile, agile dancers. They’re building strength, control and power, and all that work feeds straight into their jumps, leaps, turns and progress across all their dance classes.

There’s a reason behind it ALL!

Surplus Saturdays at IDA 🍐

Today we were blessed with not just fresh fruit for our dancers but gorgeous pastries and muffins too 🥐

Our dancers loved refuel time today, there won’t be any pastries left 👀 but plenty of fresh fruit & bars left again for after school classes next week too 🍎

A day in the life of Miss Beth…

Coming to the end of my first half term as IDA’s first full time member of staff, and honestly… loving life!
I’ve loved getting more involved behind the scenes, learning what makes IDA tick and seeing how much goes into creating the school we all love 🫶

From teaching our wonderful dancers to bringing new ideas to life, there’s so much to be excited about. We’ve got some brilliant plans ahead, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds! ✨

You’re not just paying for minutes in a dance class..

It’s easy to measure a lesson by its length. But so much of what makes that lesson valuable happens way before your child even walks through the door ✨

When you invest in their dance training at IDA you’re also paying for…

✨ Years of experience and professional training. Teachers who have invested their own time, money and energy into learning their craft and who thoughtfully turn that knowledge into lessons your child can understand and enjoy.

✨ Teachers who are invested in your child. Who notice their progress, recognise when they need encouragement and care enough to challenge them when they’re ready.

✨ Hours of preparation and choreography. Choosing music, planning exercises, creating routines and adapting material to suit the dancers in the room.

✨ Creative thinking. Finding fresh ways to explain a movement, overcome a difficulty or make a challenging skill feel achievable, while keeping classes fun and engaging.

✨ The work that supports safety. Writing and reviewing policies, planning carefully and putting procedures in place that help us care for every dancer.

And behind it all is the thought that continues after class- What helped them today? What do they need next?

The minutes are what you see. The experience, preparation and care are what give those minutes their value ✨

Today was such an exciting day at IDA! 🤩

We launched our new partnership with with the first healthy snacks available to our Saturday School dancers to fuel their dance day! 🍎🍌

Many of our Saturday dancers spend 3-5 hours with us, between all that dancing, learning and working hard, having time to pause, refuel and recharge is so important. ♥️

We reached out to Surplus because supporting our dancers means caring about their wellbeing as well as their dancing. We want to encourage healthy habits and healthy eating alongside the movement, friendships and confidence they build here at Inspire Dance Academy ✨

We’re so proud to bring this partnership to our IDA community. It’s another way we can help our children and young people feel supported & cared for 🫶

A huge thank you to for making this possible and sharing our passion for helping young people grow up healthy and happy. We’re so grateful for your support and very proud to be delivering this initiative at IDA💛
