๐ŸƒSerpentine is one of the largest running and triathlon clubs in Britain.

๐Ÿ’›We pride ourselves to be a very diverse and inclusive club.

๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธWe have a wide variation of ages: a few juniors, many young people, a few in their eighties and everything in-between. Although we are large, we retain a friendly, small club atmosphere and always welcome newcomers.

GREEN BELT RELAY 2026 - SERPENTINE DEFEND THE WALKING STICK!

The weather was blowing hot and cold over the Green Belt weekend, but a victory was never in doubt. Our vets team successfully defended the Vets category and walked home (literally by Kevin here!) with the Walking Stick, for the second year in a row.

Serpentine Paddington, led by Stage 14 winner and captain Frank Womelsdorf, finished 50 mins ahead of our closest rivals, a great side, in the Vets category and came 7th overall out of 60 teams. captured two V65 records in as many stages (11 & 16), and Karsten Buecker also took a V55 record (Stage 18). Also glad to have GBR legend Hugh Torry back in the Serpie team this year to come third in Stage 20 with a V45 record.

Altogether 35 Serpies finished every stage we started, with a third of the team representing the Club for the first time and some strong showings outside of the Paddington team, including Helen Lane taking a V55 record in Stage 17 and top ten finishes by Rolandas Glotnis and Matt Girvan.

Overall it was a fantastically fun weekend during which we touched each part of the Green Belt around London in all home counties, visiting beautiful towns and villages, going to fantastic pubs and cafes while running and cheering on everyone.

Congratulations to for being this year's overall champions with their mixed team, and for winning three categories - men, women and supervets (over 45s - who ran a faster time than our vets). Thanks to everyone at for once again organising this wonderful event in particular the race director Pete Kennedy for his dedicated and humorous leadership!

We are looking forward to GBR 2027!
