After 6 years with us, Long is leaving Paradise to move on to bigger and better things! We wish him well on his career change journey, away from the endless pile of broken bicycles that keeps stacking up for us to deal with. He has been an incredible member of our team and will be greatly missed.
This of course means that there will be a vacancy in the workshop.
Change is coming for Paradise, and we are now accepting our fate and opening up to the unknown. How will we cope? Will we find someone who can fix bikes all day and keep a cool and calm head like Long can? Doubtful, as he is the most consistently chill one of us. But all we can do is try, right?
If you are a bike mechanic, and coming to work at East London’s premier repair workshop is something that takes your fancy, then please submit an application.
If you are not a bike mechanic then please don’t interpret this plea as an opportunity for a career change. It is not an easy role to thrive in. As one applicant foolishly said a few years ago, “It’s not rocket surgery. I was a head chef for 10 years so I will probably learn everything in a couple of weeks”. Sadly, bike mechanics like so many other skilled professions need their 10,000 hours of experience to arrive at work each day and not feel at all intimidated by the workload. Most of us have lots to learn still before people refer to us as a “Master Mechanic” like Long.
Fortunately we are only looking for an “Experienced Mechanic” to make the job more approachable for a relative newbie, but if you are a master then don’t let me stop you from getting in touch!
We have a simple google form linked in our bio, where you can write something about yourself and upload a CV.
Applications are open until 21st June.
Full time 40-45 hours per week offered. Salary ranges from £28-36k. Flexible and regular hours available. All the perks of the industry are included.
We know being a London bike mechanic is a slightly bonkers job, but if you are anything like Long then you might make it look easy.
Thanks for your attention.

Today we built this lovely set of wheels for a return customer and their ever increasing collection of NJS goodness. This set is destined for a carbon Bridgestone.
Shimano Dura Ace hubs have been laced to ARAYA SA-730 rims, using Sapim double butted spokes and Sapim brass ni***es.
Give us a call or email if you have any plans to build a set of custom wheels!

This one went out towards the end of last year. A nice little Copperhead Mini.
Mini’s make the perfect city bikes, with a small rack on the front, a centre stand and a short wheelbase. Whether you want a solid commuter or a kid hauler, the Mini has you covered.

💥PARADISE WRAPPED 2025💥
We’ve done some calculations and come up with a wrapped for the workshop tasks that we completed in 2025.
This is only a fraction of the work we do. We obviously couldn’t do it without all of our customers, and the continued support of the shop.
Here’s to a great 2026 and many more services!
Thank you!

Here’s one that went out last week!
A tastefully put together Cargo in Glorious Grey, with a continuation of the red of the logo through the components.
This bike is absolutely covered in components. From the hubs on the wheels to the chainset, bottom bracket, brakes, handlebars and headset.
Tyres from Schwalbe, dropper post from KS and rims from Velocity.
We really enjoyed seeing this one coming together!

It’s that time of year again folks!
Bike shop business slows right down over the colder months of the year.
Book online or drop into the shop. We’re currently able to turn your service or repair around much quicker than other points of the year.
Should you think your bike might need some work, service or repair. Bring it down, we’ll give it a look over and let you know if there is any preventative maintenance or servicing that needs to be undertaken.
We look forward to seeing you soon!

Happy Friday!
Today we completed a full service on this lovely Crosscheck. The customer has owned this bike for 15 years! It was time to treat it to some upgrades.
A complete strip down and rebuild. It needed new Koolstop pads and headset bearings. It was also fitted with a new 10sp drivetrain, with sram mech/shifter, Middleburn RS8 crankset and chainring.
The final job was fitting a set of Son dynamo lights, hiding the wires in the fork and under the frame.
