Islington & Camden 2-1 South London District ⚽️
Big 3 points on the road 💪
After going behind early, the boys showed character, adapted well and took control of the game. Kash got us level before the break, before Moses marked his debut with the winner 👏
Massive performance from the midfield trio of Yasser, Ryan & Jem, who battled all game and completely took over in the second half.
Great football, great attitude, great win.
Onto the semi-final ⚽️

McKee Trophy CHAMPIONS 🏆
Saturday’s final saw Islington & Camden U11’s secure a huge 2-1 win in extra time against Hackney District 👏
A scrappy but competitive game from start to finish. Kairo opened the scoring in the first half to give the boys the lead, but Hackney pulled it back late on with a penalty to make it 1-1.
Into extra time… and this team showed their mentality 💪
Kole fired a long shot, the keeper can only parry it… and Kairo is there again to finish and win it!
Massive character. Massive performance. Another trophy in the bag 🏆
Onto the next!

Week Two of the Year 7 Girls League.
St Mary Magdelene had a strong week, which meant they leapfrogged Hornsey Girls for the overall top spot, with Highbury Fields and Elizabeth Garret Anderson very close behind.
There's only two points between the bottom four teams, so plenty still to play for over the next two weeks.

Lester Finch Trophy
Barking & Dagenham Primary District 0
Islington Primary District 3
The U11s with a top away performance today 👏🏾⚽️
3-0 win against a strong Barking & Dagenham side in our second group game of the Lester Finch Trophy. The Islington boys started fast, took control early, moved the ball really well and pressed high creating a few good chances before a well-worked goal from Aris put us 1-0 up. We grabbed a second just before half-time through J***y and looked comfortable going into the break.
Second half started the same — great intensity and some quality football on display. Ibrahim added the third midway through the half, and on another day it could’ve been a few more.
Overall, an amazing team performance and a big result 💪🏾Onto the next match.

Lewisham district 2 Islington & Camden 6
A game that Islington and Camden team started very brightly moving the ball well and controlling possession for the majority of the time. The away side took the lead after some quick thinking from Josh and Matty to take a free kick early seeing the resulting shot being parried by the keeper to only be slotted away by Jacob to make it 1-0.
The home side responded well with some direct play over the top of the defence to level back to 1-1. The away team soon found their rhythm after conceding with some excellent link up play down the right side leading to Cameron knocking one home to make it 2-1. The away team continued the attacking play with a well worked move down the left side which Moziah finished with powerful shot to put the away side 3-1 up.
The second half began how the first half finished with slick passing and moving to see Kayden score on his debut for the district. The home side pulled one back shortly after.
The 5th goal for the away side saw a great defensive tackle from George which followed with a fantastic pass through to Kayden who got his second of the day. Kayden then again few minutes last got his hatrick on his debut with a neat finish at the back post.
Manager Billy Stewart said “I am absolutely over the moon with the result but more importantly the performance my players delivered today. The boys have been training hard and really getting on board with how we are looking to play this season. I want to thank the players and parent for travelling early on a Saturday to Lewisham and let’s keep this momentum going “

We're on quite a run of consecutive very wet Thursdays but players and coaches keep bringing their energy to the District training sessions.

Islington & Camden U12s 6
Brent District U12s 4
Literally a game of 3 thirds this Saturday against Brent. The first third saw Islington and Camden start very bright and taking an early lead with some slick play to slide Cameron in with a tidy finish from the winger.
The very direct and physical Brent side worked their way back in to game with a number of long balls that the home side were struggling to deal with leading to the away side pulling a goal back.
The second third commenced and started the same how the first ended with Brent again using their physicality to pressure the home defence to take the lead.
A few tweaks to our shape sore as look a lot more solid defensively and Ckenny pounced on a defender trying to dribble out resulting him running down the wing to whip in a great cross to Kingsley who converted
The final third saw the Islington and Camden defence again struggle to deal with Brent’s physicality and failing to clear our lines gifiting the away side two goals.
The coaching staff decided to 'go for broke', changing personnel, pulling one back with Kingsley slotting a shot to the far corner.
The home sides tails were up and after winning a free kick on the edge of the box, it was Kingsley again who stepped up to smash a low drive into the bottom corner.
The home side continued the relentless pressure and showed amazing heart and fight to run out eventual 6-4 winners with the final two goals coming from Cameron and Kingsley, for his hat-trick.
Manager Billy Stewart said "I am incredibly proud of the players for the heart and desire they showed to keep battling away when the odds were against us. We played some great football in spells and we will be looking to keep kicking on now going into our London Cup fixture against Newham this coming Saturday."

On Saturday the I&C District U15s drew 2-2 away to Newham in a friendly in Fairlop.
I&C started slowly, with a lack of tempo in their passing and movement and Newham deservedly took the lead after 10 minutes, scoring with an uncontested shot from outside the box. This seemed to jolt I&C in to life and they equalised inside a minute, Dom pressing the Newham GK and blocking his pass out in to the goal. I&C then started to move the ball with more control and more zip and Dom scored a second goal with a lifted finish over the GK, following a great ball over the top from Justin.
However, despite having much more of the ball, I&C conceded when a long ball over the top wasn't dealt with and the CF got in to drive the ball in high over Jay, who was making his debut in goal.
Half-time 2-2.
Second half, I&C controlled possession in the first two thirds and did create a couple of good chances but were unable to get the finishes on target. Newham had made some changes and were much more of a threat on transition, but the back three of Jared, Max and Sam, who had a very good debut, meant that the opposition had no clear chances on goal that Pip had to deal with.
I&C played some excellent football out from the back but weren't able to nick a winner and the game finished 2-2.
Good performances all round and a solid team work-out.
"It was great to get a game in this early in the season and some of our play in recycling possession within our own half was a joy to watch at times," commented Coach Michael MacNeill "We need to ask more and better questions of the opposition when we are in the attacking third but as an early-season performance, really happy and enjoyed what I saw. The boys themselves said they felt it was a good performance and a game they should have won and they are right."
I&C: Jay (Pip), Justin, Max, Jared (Sam), Joe, Jonas, Ryan, Segun, Ziane, Nahom, Dom.

The I&CSFA 6-a-sides are underway. 11 schools attended each of the first two competitions.
Last week, was probably the closest qualifying round held in the past 15 years with every school getting at least one win. Maria Fidelis, William Ellis, Central Foundation and St Mary Magdlene eventually progressed from the Year 9 Boys qualifying round for the finals in November.
This Wednesday, at the Year 8 Boys event at a sunny Market Road, saw one qualifying group finish with three teams joint top, all having won two games out of three. Central Foundation and St Mary Magdlene again qualified (Haverstock being the unfortunate school to miss out on 6 points) alongside Acland Burghley and St Aloysius.
This Wednedays will see 13 schools compete in the Year 7 competition.
