Congratulations to connections of Kingofthefrontier, who became the first GB Pointing Bonus Scheme winner following his success at Southwell yesterday.
The Scheme – one of several measures introduced in conjunction with the 2026 Fixture List – rewards the winners of selected Point-to-Point races that go on to win a developmental race under Rules.
It is designed to help enhance the pipeline of quality horses progressing to race under Rules and strengthen Point-to-Points as a development ground for those horses.
Further details of the Scheme, and others introduced last year to support our overarching aim of growing the number of horses being bred, trained and raced in Britain, can be found here:https://media.britishhorseracing.com/bha/Fixture_List/2026_Headline_Measures.pdf
🏆 WINNER! 🏆
Kingofthefrontier (GB) has become the first horse to trigger the new GB Pointing Bonus Scheme, earning a £25,000 bonus as a British-bred graduate of the GB Pointing field.
Trained by Yorkshire-based John Dawson, Kingofthefrontier won his GB Pointing Bonus Young Horse Maiden on debut at Charm Park in March 2026 for point-to-point keeper Cherry Coward before progressing under Rules.
Congratulations to all connections on this landmark achievement! 👏
