We’ve enjoyed a lovely hour in the air in between the weather fronts this afternoon from Sackville. It was lovely to see a number of home built balloons flying.

We are really pleased we got this flight in as it was a special one, a lovely landowner to end it all too!

The forecast looks to be clearing as the day goes on and by late afternoon it looks good enough for flying!

We are hoping for similar scenes to this again on Sunday!

We have a special flight planned for Sunday evening for someone who is bravely fighting a really serious medical diagnosis. Being able to do flights like this for people makes the sport worthwhile.

We don’t sell flights at Molly Mae Ballooning but we are able to take people flying and often do this for charity flights or competitions.

We will update a little closer to the time, maybe we will even be joined by a friend or two!

We are really pleased to announce that we are going to be supporting another up and coming balloon preservation group in the coming seasons.

Cameron Tovey and his daughter Ella alongside their awesome group of friends and volunteers have set up Ella’s Ballooning . This group celebrates the father and daughter duo’s love of balloons.

Their plan and mission is to collect old balloons and then tour them around events displaying them for all to see. We have already helped out displaying a couple of their balloons already.

Their collection has recently expanded to include two fantastic special shapes too! The LE Electrical Lightbulb G-LAMP and the Mascot.

Ella’s Ballooning adds another group to the UK ballooning scene dedicated to preserving old balloons for future generations to see.

These groups are often the unsung heroes at events bringing along rare and hardly seen vintage balloons for all to see.

Other groups we work with and support include British Balloon Museum and Library, MJ Ballooning and Bristol Balloon Collectors.

Please give Ella’s Ballooning and the others a follow to keep track of their adventures.

We are hoping to help them with their maiden inflations of the lightbulb and mascot very soon!

We had a lovely flight this evening from Delapre, landing at Bozeat.

Fantastic company in the balloon, a great landing field and a little carry out to keep the fitness up.

FLIGHT UPDATE:

The conditions this evening are perfect for a flight and we are currently setting up G-TIMX in Delepre Abbey the wind direction is going to take us out towards Grendon and we are planning to be in the air just after 18:00.

If there is anything you would like to know about ballooning please ask below and we will answer your questions throughout the day.

We have been a little quieter this week whilst we reviewed the season and some of the projects we have in the works.

We are going to be doing a Q and A session on Friday where you can ask absolutely anything you want to know about ballooning.

We will also be hopefully announcing some really exciting new projects and collaborations in the coming weeks.

One of these will involve a couple of rare and exciting special shapes so stay tuned!
