🟢🟡Results🟡🟢
Last weekend the 1st XI won a thriller away at Derby Road, whilst the 2s were well beaten by Leicester Ivanhoe.
The 1st XI ripped through Leicester Lions on a tricky pitch. Ben Lewin (4/21), Pete Alway (3/13) and Francis Robson (3/29) the pick of the bowlers.
Lions fought back, with Quorn being reduced to 17/3. A fourth wicket partnership of 50 between skipper Kelvin Locke (29) and Ben Ragg (26) did ease some pressure and they managed to battle their way to 94-5. Lions then came back into it with 4 wickets falling for 5 runs - 99/9. It was left up to Pete Alway and Francis Robson to finish the job, and they managed to steer them home with 14 balls to spare! Fantastic result, coming right down to the wire!
The 2nd XI struggled with the bat and were bowled out for 115, despite a brutal 70 from former 2nd XI captain Chris Sherlock. The total was ultimately not enough, despite a spirited showing with the ball. Tom Wild (3/38) the pick of the bowlers. 🏏

Last weekend’s results as the 1st XI lost to Walton-Le-Wolds 1st XI, whilst the 2s and Sunday XI both had great wins with some fantastic performances to boot.
The first XI came up short of Walton’s 167. Stu Fielding’s 4/28 and Pete Alway’s 3/30 the highlights.
Sam Kennedy and Kian Armson’s 117 run partnership bought the 2s home. Whilst Toby Ward’s 4 overs, 5 wickets for 1 run put the Sunday XI into a strong position before Dan Young’s unbeaten 57, well supported by Dylan Read finished the job.
Congratulations for making the county honours board. 🏏

Fantastic work by Exclusive Leisure Ltd on our new nets. It felt like they were up in no-time at all and the quality of work is great! If any other clubs are after new nets, we’d highly recommend them!
Another big thank you to our sponsors Barwood Land and all those involved in the project - we’ve been using them for a couple of months now and they’re brilliant. 🏏

🟢🟡Weekend Results🟡🟢
On Saturday our two sides had contrasting matches, with the 1st XI losing a tight one to Loughborough Town and the 2nd XI blowing away Cropston.
The 1s batted first with skipper Locke (34) and all rounder Tom Platts (36*) being the highlights on a day when the bowlers seemed to be on top.
A strong bowling and fielding followed, keeping it tight and squeezing the run rate at key times. A spell with Jack Child (3/32) in the wickets saw the game come down to the wire, before Loughborough managed to chase it down in the penultimate over with just 3 wickets remaining.
Meanwhile the 2s opening bowler Trystan Clark (6/43) and a faultless catching performance in the field, helped them rip through Cropston. They bowled them all out for 85 before knocking it off 2 down. Richard Sharp (35*) with the red inker to see them home. The win also takes them up to 3rd in the league! 🏏
