Honestly, I think we’ve got it the wrong way round.
When something’s eating at us, we talk it through with the people who love us. Over w**e. In the car. On the phone while we unload the dishwasher. They listen, they agree, they tell us we’re right.
We feel better for about a day. Then the conversation we actually need to have is still sitting there, exactly where we left it.
I’ve had my share of hard conversations, at work and at home, and I know how long you can carry one before you say it. That’s why I built PowerLift™. It isn’t therapy, and it isn’t a pep talk. It’s ninety minutes with someone who isn’t on anyone’s side, working out what you really want from it, how the other person is likely to react, and the first thing you’ll say. You leave with all of it written down, so it doesn’t drift back into your head at 11pm.
“I can just talk to my friends” is the reason most women don’t book. Emma thought her problem was work. In one session she realised she’d been working seven days a week so she didn’t have to look at what was actually draining her. Her friends had been telling her for years to slow down. None of them had asked her why she couldn’t.
I keep my one-to-ones small so I can do them properly. There are 5 PowerLift™ places left in October. Message me if you want to know more
