๐๐U12 Greens - Fleetwood Gym Tournament Winners๐๐
Fleetwood Gym Tournament โ U12 Greens ๐
The U12 Greens had an early start at Fleetwood this morning, with blustery conditions and all 12 available squad players ready to go.
The boys played some excellent football against strong opposition, finishing 4th in their group on 10 points. This set up a Trophy Semi-Final against St Anneโs Yellows. After a closely fought contest, the game went to penalties, where the Greens held their nerve to win 4-3.
The victory earned a place in the Trophy Final against Clifton Hornets โ the only team to take maximum points from us in the group stage. The boys produced a fantastic performance, earning a convincing 2-0 win thanks to goals from OCB and Oscar J.
A special mention to Louie, who made an excellent debut in goal, pulling off some outstanding saves and also scoring his first goal for the Greens. Jack was superb at right-back and also put in a massive performance between the sticks. Enzo was his usual dependable defensive linchpin, while Ben was outstanding at left-back throughout the tournament.
Cal brought energy wherever he played, Ted commanded the midfield, and Tasimba showed tremendous commitment and work rate. Theo impressed with his forward play and effort, OCB was excellent on either wing, and Oscar J was a talisman up front and a constant threat. Noah worked tirelessly for the team, while Chi produced some excellent goalkeeping displays and showed plenty of promise during his outfield debut for the Greens.
A long day, but one that was made worthwhile when the trophy came home! ๐
A huge thank you to all the parents for their help and support throughout the day.
Congratulations to all the lads โ a brilliant team effort and another great day for the Greens! ๐๐โฝ

๐๐U9 Herons - BJFF Tournament๐๐
St Annes Herons u9 Girls played in the BJFF May Madness tournament today and it was a great morning of football with some very talented teams playing. Alanah and Arabella both got stuck in and played well in their debuts for the team and first ever tournament. Heidi and Marley did a lot of running, having some great chances on goal, whilst Elysia, Jess and Gracie tackled strongly in defence.
Parents player of the tournament went to Orla for some brave performances in goal and great dribbling skills when playing outfield.
Coaches player of the tournament went to Harlie who was incredibly strong in defence, thwarting many opposition attacks and clearing the ball well.
Well done Herons!

๐๐U10 Blacks - End of Season Friendly๐๐
On a warm Saturday morning at Blackpool Road North the mighty blacks stepped out to play a Thornton team which we have played a few times over the season and know well.
The blacks started well and was moving the ball quickly and sharp. From back to front they were keeping hold of the ball and using their team mates really well. When they didn't have the ball they defended strongly and made sure Austin in goal didn't have too much to do.
When going forward they were attacking with real purpose.
We saw some great finishes by team play and individual play.
The blacks really enjoyed playing in the sun this week

๐๐U11 Greens - BJFF Tournament๐๐
St Annes Greens Under 11s had a great morning at the BJFF May Madness tournament this morning. It was a tough group stage, but the Greens worked hard and came away qualifying for the Shield competition. A tight semi-final followed which ended 0-0, so it was on to penalties! A fantastic save from James and brilliant goals from Ash and Finn were enough to take the Greens through to the final! This was another close game, but some fantastic play from the Greens led to a goal from Ash. We continued to play well and were very unlucky to concede a controversial goal in the last minutes, taking the Greens to penalties once again. This time Freddie was in goal and a great save from him followed straight after by a calmy scored penalty left it in Kaiden's hands to win the tournament. Seemingly unfazed by this, Kaiden stepped up and scored with a strong shot!
It was a well deserved Shield win for the Greens who have battled on through a tough season. All played their part well and deservedly enjoyed the celebrations
