MALDON NETBALL – 2 WINS & 1 LOSS THIS WEEK! 🏐

What a week for Maldon Netball! Three tough games, two fantastic wins and plenty to be proud of! ❤️

💗 PEARLS – 30–23 WIN v Firecrest 💗

Wow, wow, WOW! 🤩 What a performance! A fab team effort all round and focus on getting a win. Lots of coaching tips tried and tested successfully!

🌟 POM – Midge

💎 DIAMONDS – 28–33 v Chelmer Wanderers 💎

A tough game for the Diamonds, going down 33–28, but the team kept fighting right until the end. ❤️

🌟 POM – Vicky
💎 Diamond Player – Nicky

Lots to take from this one and plenty of positives to build on. Keep going, Diamonds! 👊🏻 A note to take duck tape for shoes apparently for next game.

💙 SAPPHIRES – 49–36 win v Infinity White 💙

ANOTHER WIN! 🔥 And that makes it 3/3 wins so far! 🙌🏻

Some fantastic passages of play from the Sapphires in another tough match. 💪🏻 They’re having to work hard for every win, but continuing to show great team spirit and determination.

🌟 POM – Tilly 🌟 👏🏻

And those 15-minute quarters… you can definitely notice the difference in the legs and the increasingly red faces! 😂🥵

🏐 MALDON NETBALL — A MIXED WEEK! 🏐

One win, one loss and a draw this week but plenty to be proud of across all three teams! ❤️💙💎

💎 DIAMONDS v Chelmer Wanderers

A tough one for Diamonds this week, going down 35–28.

The team showed plenty of fight, effort and determination right to the final whistle. Take the lessons, learn from the mistakes and come back stronger! 🔥

🌟 POM: Iona
💎 Diamond Player: Sophie

🌸 PEARLS v Ferrers Falcons

A DRAW! 💪🏻🏀

And Pearls were absolutely thrilled with their performance! 🙌🏻❤️

CONGRATULATIONS to every single one of you! Everyone upped their game, fought right to the end and gave us plenty to be proud of. ❤️

🏀 Communication was fantastic and most importantly, heads stayed UP! Pearls came from behind TWICE and fought back.

Oh and this is worth a mention …

NO FOOTWORK CALLS! ALL MATCH! 💪🏻🙌🏻😂

🌟 POM: Jess 🌟

What a team effort! ❤️

💙 SAPPHIRES v Iceni Reds

We knew this was going to be a tough one, with Iceni Reds coming down from Division 4 so we knew exactly what we were up against!

But Sapphires were ready! 💪🏻

We led every quarter, although a slightly dodgy third quarter allowed them to catch up and make us work for it! 😬

We listened to Lynds’ tip and focused on playing possession… although perhaps we took that advice a little too literally! 😂🏀 Jo has never received so many balls in one game! 🤣

But it worked and Sapphires secured their FIRST WIN IN DIVISION 5, with a fantastic 34–27 victory! 🎉🙌🏻

🌟 POM: Tilly
💎 Diamond Player: Jo

A great performance and a fantastic way to get that first Division 5 win on the board! 💙🔥 Still things to work on though!

Well done, Maldon! Three teams, three very different games but plenty of fight, determination and team spirit across the club. ❤️🏀

🏐💎 Maldon Netball Club is BACK! 💎🏐

But now… we’re mostly all back, raring to go and ready for another season! 💪🏐

And what better way to kick things off than with the 1st round of the Cup — and a WINNING week! 🔥🙌 No match for Pearls this week but they are focused and ready to go!

💎 DIAMONDS vs Essex Hotshots

What an incredible performance from the Diamonds! 💎🔥 A fantastic 57–24 victory and such a well-deserved result!

A brilliant way to start the season! 🏐👏

Some fantastic passing, strong defending, clinical shooting and great movement around the court made this such an enjoyable game to watch. 🙌

🌟 PLAYER OF THE MATCH — SOPHIE! 🌟

A massive well done Diamonds 💎

And a big WELCOME TO THE TEAM, RUBY! ❤️🏐

💙 MALDON SAPPHIRES vs Lyon’s Ladies Blue

Our first of THREE games against Division 5 opposition and what a way to start! 💙🔥

A fantastic 29–23 victory in a real team effort. The Sapphires led every single quarter and we fab teamwork and determination throughout. Last quarter we stayed calm and made those extra passes which made a difference to our game. 👏💙

🌟 PLAYER OF THE MATCH — TILLY! 🌟

Another POM for our Tilly… 👀😂 Let’s see just how many she can rack up this season! 🏆💙

A brilliant first week back for Maldon Netball - two teams, two wins and the Cup is underway! 🏆🔥

Great results all round this week! ⭐️

Maldon Diamonds secured a fantastic 36–27 win over Chelmer Wanderers. Huge congratulations to Sophie and Kris for POM, and Sophie for also taking Diamond Player 👏

Maldon Sapphires also had a brilliant performance, beating Phoenix Fire 46–19 💙
Strong play up and down the court, and great to see the team confidently try out our new SET which paid off with Tilly’s intercept!
Well done to Sarah for POM and captain Em for Diamond Player 👏

Just one more game to go for both teams!
Pearls have wrapped up their matches and are now fully focused on bringing the energy, vibes and quiche to the big netball quiz tonight 🎉

Maldon Pearls

The Pearls have had a couple of trickier games recently, with a few end-of-season injuries creeping in. The team spirit is still strong though, with everyone supporting from the sidelines. 💪

Maldon Pearls v Ultra Violets ended in a 26–26 draw – a great battle and a well-earned result for the team.
⭐ Player of the Match: Holly
💎 Diamond Player: Ann

Next up was Maldon Pearls v Phoenix Flare on a very windy night. It wasn’t the result the team hoped for to finish the season, but the Pearls are definitely the winning team when it comes to fun and team spirit. It’s been fantastic to see the confidence and improvement across our Pearlie Queens this season!
⭐ POM: Sazza
💎 Diamond Player: Sazza

Summer league… here we come! ☀️

Maldon Diamonds

The Diamonds have also faced a couple of tough matches.

First up was Maldon Diamonds v Chelmsford Falcons, ending in a 27–32 loss. One of those games where you just say it wasn’t our night and move on to the next one.

This week’s match was Maldon Diamonds v Black Magic Diamonds – always a great battle and strong match-up. This time Black Magic Diamonds came away with the win, with the final score 38–27.
⭐ POM: Sophie
💎 Diamond Player: Nicky

Maldon Sapphires

The Sapphires have just the one match to report this week – and it’s a good one! With the top of the table so close, every remaining game is a must-win.

On another windy night, the Sapphires took on Chelmer Wanderers and delivered a fantastic 35–16 win. A brilliant team performance with everyone playing their part across the court.

⭐ Player of the Match: Lily – who didn’t let the wind stop her flying around the court and linking up brilliantly with Sarah.

Just two matches left to go! 💙

Picture of our lovely Pearls on a windy netball evening! Note Lyndsey’s new hat with the Maldon motto DFD!

Another brilliant week for Maldon Netball Club playing in what felt like Mediterranean temperatures at last! 💙

Starting with Pearls, who kept their incredible winning streak alive. They faced Phoenix Reborn and edged a nail-biting 23–24 victory. The winning goal came in the very last seconds from Sophie, who had only just taken to the court after Ann unfortunately took a tumble. A fantastic team performance all round, with POM awarded to Sazza (and plenty of chat about that amazing lean 👀). The support crew were in full voice as always, and Hollie apparently was a little firecracker - very technical netball terminology there!

Sapphires played Fuhrs Blue, securing an impressive 46–14 win. Another outstanding team effort keeps them firmly at the top of Division 6. POM this week goes to our intercept queen, Tilly 👑

Diamonds unfortunately had their game cancelled this week… but we’ll happily take the win! 💎

Well done everyone - what a club! 💙

You wouldn’t think it was that warm judging by the under layers in pics!

🏐 Maldon Netball Club Roundup 🏐

A cracking week of netball with a hat trick of wins for all three teams! 💪

Maldon Sapphires got the ball rolling with a great win against Black Magic Diamonds. A particularly strong 3rd and 4th quarter saw them finish 35–22. Huge congrats to **Sarah** for Player of the Match with some fabulous shooting, and to **Tilly** for Diamond thanks to those signature interceptions! ⭐

Next up, Maldon Pearls continued their winning streak with a 25–21 victory over GT Dunmow Griffins. The team played brilliantly and looked just like they do in training. Well done to **Steph** for taking home both Diamond and POM! 🌟

Last but not least, Diamonds secured a fantastic 36–20 win against Phoenix Fire. It was a close contest the last time they met, but this time Diamonds took the win. Special shoutout to **Vicky** for a brilliant defensive game and earning both POM and Diamond! ✨

Well done to all our teams for a winning week! 🙌

This weeks Maldon Netball Club update 🌟

Maldon Pearls kicked off the week against Firecrest and secured a well-deserved 26–18 win after an impressive comeback from 4 goals down in the first quarter. Some brilliant passages of play throughout! Player of the Match went to Steph, who kept the energy up possibly thanks to jelly babies! Congrats to Fran for Diamond 💎

It was also Maldon Derby week - always a competitive one with Diamonds vs Sapphires. A tightly contested game with fantastic support and entertaining commentary from the Pearls media team, plus special guest “Clare Balding” (aka Steph!). Ann added some great insights too. This time the Sapphires edged it 36–33. Congrats to POMs Gemma and Iona, and a special shoutout to Iona for earning both Diamond and POM! 👏
