Bronze medalists at last!

Our 25u boys crew were denied the opportunity to be presented with medals on the podium at the World Championships in May. Yesterday that was rectified when we presented the crew with their official bronze medals 🥉

Cox Jess Hutchings (who also rowed in the gold medal winning 25u womens crew) and Captain Lucas Hutchings lead this crew which spanned the age group from aged 16 to 23.

Joe, Ezra and Lucas now head to the mens Championships in Newquay this weekend.

What a show of strength in that gritty semifinal our Women’s A demonstrated to then row their hearts out and place 4th out of 105 crews in the final of the County Championships!

Day 2 of the County Championships and our hopes are now resting on our wonderful Women’s A crew who are into the semifinals, starting shortly.

Our Women’s D crew have smashed their second race , and their strong second place means they will be joining the rest of the crews in the Quarterfinals tomorrow.

A historic occasion- ALL 24 Mounts Bay women in 4 crews will be rowing both days!

And that’s a wrap for the first round of the County Championships, with Mounts Bay’s best results ever, with 3 crews progressing to tomorrow’s quarterfinals and a good chance in the second round this afternoon for a 4th crew to qualify!

A crew- 1st
B crew- 2nd
C crew- 2nd
D crew -4th

Automatic progression to the quarterfinals for 1st and second placed crews, while the D crew get to row again this afternoon, with the top two also qualifying for the next round.

Yesterday we attended our last summer regatta of 2026, thank you to Fowey Gig Club for a another great event on the notoriously tough course for coxed and rowers!
